I wonder why these are so cheap. A 6500w Inverter for $98! I imagine they come from China.
I know Honda 3000W inverter generators are about $2000.
I mean for $98, it's not a huge loss if it's junk.

It probably costs that much to ship.

It's not a huge loss until you give them your financial information and CC info.

I think the website said free shipping. I didn't want to mess with a CC so just gave them my banking information with the routing numbers:eek:....hope I get my generators soon...…. Please know that was tongue in cheek:)

No phone numbers, no "about us" information relating to physical location and "broken English" in the available "contact us" information:

"If you have any questions, comments or suggestions for our products, service or website, you are welcome to contact us at any time. Our customer service team is on line 24 hours around the clock to be at your service wholeheartedly. You can contact us in the manners as follows:"

While anyone can make a mistake in how they write a sentence, this does appear to be an "English is a second language" post. I'd suppose it's an overseas company and may or may not be reliable.

If I were to order something (I'm not at this time), I think rather than give them a credit card or other personal financial information, I'd go to WalMart, buy a "prepaid VISA" for the amount of the transaction (plus a few extra dollars) and use that as the payment method. At least that way, if it is a scam, you're only out the amount of the prepaid VISA.....

Happy shopping (hopefully).....

I just tried to order a 6500W from them using my credit card. Long story short, it is a scam. Luckily my bank stopped all activity and all is good. My credit card has virtual numbers and that is what I used, so my real card number is safe.
I normally can sniff out a scam, but this time I am the dodo.
But I did not give them my real info, so I must have learned something over the years! LOL

This reminds me of a HUGE stink I heard about many years ago when a call-in radio personality offered a new Toyota to the someteenth caller with the answer to some difficult question. The excited winner actually went to the studio and got... a toy Yoda doll. I'm not making this up either!

Yes, I meant they would pay more in shipping than the listed price.

Do you go ahead and give them your social security number to verify? :)

It just gets better!! $85 and free shipping from Sri Lanka, Bhutan or ???

As John said, if you read the website it pretty much tells you all you need to know. The desire to find a great deal like that makes you want to try it but one member has already said it is a scam and googling them makes you think that as well. Dang, and I was hoping to give these things away for Christmas presents!!

Ads like the above one for the generators are popping up all over Facebook and advertising Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, and lot of the other name brand tools. Stuff like 10 and 14 piece Milwaukee kits that should sell for $1100-$1200 for $94 and such.

Remember, if it seems too good to be true........it is!

I think you have to wire several thousand dollars to a Nirobi Prince first, fully refundable with your first order!

That 3100 Champion is garbage, it doesn't put out 2800w running. Couldn't run my table saw and or my mitre saw. Never mind the air conditioner in the trailer. I had two of these from costco, returned them both. The motor has a high pitch to it, drove my wife and i nuts, couldn't run it for more than 5 minutes. Champion told me they weren't designed to run commercially...lol. I'm retired i don't work anymore i putter around. I bought the 3400 Champion. I love this machine. I've had it for a year now and never misses a beat and runs my table saw and mitre saw with no squawking. Quite a bit more money but its worth it. And the motor pitch is just fine doesn't annoy anyone.
Tried it on the air con just for the fun of it and it didn't even kick into high gear.

This company selling thse things is:

Shanghai Meicheng Technology Information Development Co., Ltd.

I am guessing they are out of Montana or somewhere? Their address is hidden in the whois.com lookup (as are most these days).

A little more about this fine Chinese vendor:
