Hi all

I got my 2018 passport out of storage this week. I washed and waxed it [emoji3]

As I was waxing the back I noticed the fiberglass seems to be loose. Not falling off but with the tip of my finger it would moving in and out as if there was no backing.

I know from my boating experience that would be a sign of delamination.

I am thinking it’s time for a trip to the dealer .

Any thoughts or opinions will be appreciated

Thanks
Pat

The back panel on almost all Keystone trailers is a "free floating FILON panel". It is only attached at the sides, top and bottom and where any fixtures (windows, vents, lights, etc) are secured through the rear wall and into the frame. When the sun hits the rear wall the heat will expand it slightly and it will bulge in areas where there is a long space between where it's attached to the frame.

It's normal to have some movement with a "finger press". Ours moves about 3/4" on a warm day and a little less when the rear wall is cool. The next time you see a Passport (or most any Keystone trailer) in a parking lot or on a dealer's lot, walk up and press the rear panel to compare to yours. I'm sure you'll see that it's just like yours.

Yep. Mine is the same way. It’s not delamination.

OP..your’s did that the day you took it off the lot...you just didn’t notice.

My trailer while parked faces the sun. Last year the front has gotten ripples as explained on here as done by the sun not water. We were at a RV park with 195 sites, while walking through the place noticed they all had the same problem on the front if the front was a filon outer siding. I have seen newer Keystones using what looks like a moulded plastic front like 5ers.
