Hooking up today after wife gets back from a nursing seminar in Boston. Going to Round Lake in Hayesville for the Holiday. Our 1st outing with the new camper. Hopefully will get some pictures of the trailer and truck.

How did it go?

All in all fine. Very windy trip, 20-25mph (head then cross) on the way there, made it not quite so fun but everything went fine at 58-60. About 8.5mpg for the round trip. Curious where that fall with on average with the group.
Rookie mistake at the campground. Assumed the water station on the campground map would work to fill the FW tank. It didn't (with the equipment I had). Instead of backtracking to a hydrant that would work we filled it enough with a 2.5 gal water jug to last us the three days.
Very pleased with the 19RB. Of course we have found some things we want to add/improve, but they are all minor.

On May 4th we headed West to Cleveland and South.
20 - 30 MPH winds and I got an average of 7.5 MPG.
Rest of the trip I averaged low 11's to almost 12 in flat middle Tennessee.
I usually drive around 60 ~ 65 MPH. Although the same size I think my TT is lighter because I don't have a slideout.

Gear position "L" which for some unknown reason means Manual Mode is your friend.
When coming to a hill shift to "L" before you start to climb. This drops the transmission out of overdrive 5 and 6 and puts you in 4th gear.
Do you do this? I started doing his the middle of last season.
This stops the engine from lugging and puts it in the power band. It really helps on mileage. Use the "+" and "-" to even go into 3 if the hill is steep.

Thanks. I will try and play around with the manual shifting. I have just been engaging tow/haul and letting it do its thing. Trans temps stayed below 200 so I hadn't messed with anything else yet.
