Black tank vent

We are getting smell when we flush and it spays water at you like there is pressure in the tank. Please help

Is the exhaust fan in the bathroom ceiling on when you flush with the lid open? I've found that leaving the toilet seat open will draw the odor up into the room. I've learned to close the lid before flushing.

The spray back needs more info. Is your tank empty or nearing full? If it's full, this will happen. It will not be a spray but more of an explosion.

No it is empty or even halfway. The first trip out we didn’t have this problem

From your description, it sounds like your black tank vent stack is plugged and not allowing the air to escape from the tank when a "large volume of liquid" is introduced into the tank (when you flush). If the vent stack doesn't equalize the pressure increase, the toilet will "burp" and the contents will splash back into the bowl.

I'd first check the cap on the black tank vent (on the roof) to make sure it is not pushed down, blocking the pipe. If that looks good and is not "plugged or partially plugged" then the next "probable cause" would likely be that the vent stack is pushed too far into the black tank and as the tank fills, the contents stop the free flow of air up into the vent stack. The fix for this is to pull the vent stack up to the top of the black tank, probably something you'd want to the dealer to do if you're still in warranty.

If you're trailer is still "in warranty", don't ignore the problem, it won't fix itself, so be sure to identify it to the dealer while the repair is "on the Keystone dime".....

Thanks I will try that would this happen on its own just because the first time we used it we didn’t get this issue??

No, it shouldn't happen on its own. If the toilet flushed properly the first few times and now "gurgles and burps" I'd guess that you might have some "tank contents" (solids or paper) that migrated into the vent stack and partially plugged the vent. You should be able to remove the vent cap and pour water down into the black tank from the roof. If the vent "fills with water" (it'll probably take 4 or 5 gallons) then the vent is plugged at the bottom. If water flows freely into the black tank, the vent stack is open. It may still be "too long in the tank" but if it worked at first, and if the vent was properly glued into the tank, it shouldn't move. But, if it's held in place by friction, it may have slipped. You can try to twist it from the roof and pull it up ???? Don't pull too far or you may pull it out of the tank fitting. Which is why, if it's still in warranty, let the dealer handle it.

If you're relying on the sensors to be anywhere near accurate, DON'T, they are notorious for being so inaccurate to the point of being uselss. If I were to guess although your sensor says it's not near full that it's nearly full for you to be getting the odor & burp.
If you don't have a clear fitting attached to the rv end of your sewer hose, get one & drain\rinse your black tank til water runs clear, I'd bet you'll be surprised that it was/is much fuller than you think.
One more question, you don't leave the black valve open while parked connected to sewer? Is so NEVER leave the the black open, it needs all the water possible to wash the solids out or you'll build a "poop pyramid" in your tank which is like concrete to remove, a real Shi##y mess (pun intended). You can leave the the grey open til a couple days before draining the black for rinsing the hose.

I had a problem with my Premier 19FBPR. We were getting seeer smell into camper. I checked the roof vent and it was so close to the factory vent cover it was closing in the heat. I replaced it with a 360 siphon vent cover. No more smell. Works great. Also I use Odorloss in tank.
Another solution is if you have a reversible vent fan ( like a Vortex vent fan) you can reverse the fan causing a higher pressure inside bathroom and blowing stink out the vent when toilet is flushed.
