Hello all ,My buddy finally got his 272bh springdale home (maiden voyage). Pulled in front of his house to position the rv for backing into the driveway and . . . managed to catch the corner of the slide out topper on a tree branch. We were sick. But fortunately it didn't tear it away from the rv, only the left hand corner of the topper (CareFree side kover III) was impacted; the cover and the idler bearing were damaged. Awaiting on the parts to repair. Is there any help on how to replace the idler bearing? It doesn't seem that complicated, the spring tensioner is at the other end (Right side), this just seems to mount into the roller tube. He cant open the slide out until we get the topper secured. Also part of the TPM roof edge was severly scuffed, temp sealed that up with lap sealent. Any and all comments / help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The stuff on the roof should be fine with the lap sealant on it. I am assuming you used the appropriate sealant. Another alternative is to use Eternabond tape on it. I can’t help you with the slide cover repair. Hope it goes well.

Thanks so much for your reply. Because the unit is brand new and the damage thankfully minor, the roof repair (dicor, tape, lap) should hold. As far as the slide topper . . .The replacement cover and the idler bearing were easy to replace - no tension from the spring at that end, just refit. ALL GOOD. We really wanted to get him "on the road" instead of being tied up at the dealer all season. Roof repair success will become evident later (or not). will keep Very close eye on that. Thanks
