We are planning a week long stay at Brimley State Park in MI. We plan to do the normal stuff up there: Sault Saint Marie, Thaquamenon falls, Oswalds Bear Ranch, and White Fish point. What else is up that way that I am missing? We have done the small water falls tour in Munising so looking for other stuff if there is other stuff. If not it will be just bike rides and fires on the Lake Superior Coast.

Take a drive to Crisp Point Lighthouse. The drive there is way off the beaten path, but it is worth it. Try to get down to Kitchitikipi Spring, very cool place! Really good Ice cream Parlour in Hessel too!

Depending on when you plan your trip, the Munising Pictured Rocks boat tour is a great way to spend an afternoon. We were there in May last year and the tours were cancelled because the bay was iced in. Depending on the wind direction, if ice from Lake Superior blows into the bay, the boats can't get out of the harbor. Later in the year, that's not a problem. Plan to get on the boat early, get seats on the top deck (wear sunscreen) and take lots of pictures. The morning tour is quite chilly, even in August, so the afternoon tour is most comfortable and the sun is right for pictures. While in Munising, sample a Muldoon's Apple Pasty. It rivals the great "American apple pie".....

Munising Tourist Park, just west of the city, on US 28 sits directly on Lake Superior. There are full hookup sites "on the water". It's amazing to wake up on a windy morning and have coffee while watching 10' waves roll into the beach within a stone's throw of your trailer's window. (bring bug spray)

:DUse a map. The drive is beautiful but cell phone coverage was spotty. You dont want to miss Lehto's because you can't find them. Worth the trip.

If you go to the big springs, check out Fayette state park. Great camp ground and historic site.

Has anyone driven their 5th wheel over the bridge in the wind? Always think of the girl in the Yugo who got pushed over the side in the wind.

Has anyone driven their 5th wheel over the bridge in the wind? Always think of the girl in the Yugo who got pushed over the side in the wind.I've taken our TT over in slight wind. Wasn't bad. Only normal movement. Of course I was white knuckled the whole way. They shut the bridge down earlier that day and didn't open it back up until about an hour before we arrived at the bridge. They won't let people across if it is extremely windy.

We went over in October 2017 - wind was bad. We were only allowed to go 7 mph and had to go with the Tractor Trailers. Very scary. Not a big fan of the bridge on a good day but it is beautiful.
