Can a Series 24 and a Series 29 Deep Cycle Battery be used in parallel without consequence.

I think standard practice is to have the same size, same type, and same age batteries connected in parallel due to the differences in charging characteristics of the those that are not. This can easily shorten the life of one (or both) batteries. Pretty sure this is the standard rule of thumb with lead acid batteries.

I concur with Buster. That doesn't necessarily make it so, but what he ^^^^ said is the standard of the business.

The quick answer is: NO DON'T DO IT !!!

The longer answer and the reasoning is an easy read from the Optima Battery website. They manufacture Optima batteries and likely know more about batteries than any of us. They say, NO, and explain it at their website:

Excellent information! The leads to my house battery on the tongue are actually long enough to simply switch them over to the trolling battery terminals.

Thanks!
