We have purchased a 2018 Carbon 347 and can't seem to get a straight answer as to what is included and not included in the Generator Prep package. Specifically, I'm trying to find out if the fuel line is installed and stowed in the generator compartment.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Yes it is, should have fuel tank with 2 hoses run to compartment, gauge, gen control panel inside and a wiring harness that plugs control panel to gen. You may have to hook up wiring to or from the battery to the gen inside the compartment also.

Thanks Tinner12002. I heard back from my Dealer and they confirmed the fuel line will be installed. My call to Keystone Customer Service has gone unanswered so far. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Just as a side note, if your going to purchase an Onan gen which most toy haulers have in them, look at the option of getting the fuel injection model. They are nearly identical in price, you also need 2 fuel lines, one supply and one return line which I believe they all have, and a fuel pump kit which you purchase with the gen. I've always thought a fuel inj gen would be hands down better than the carburetor model. Just throwing that option out there as a possible alternative.

I did the research on the EFI and the price delta for me was about $500, including the cost of the pump. Not sure if I'll go that route or not. The wife has designs on that $500!

Thanks for the help.

I understand, the models I had seen were on Ebay through Coloradostandby.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Cummins-Onan-5-5-HGJAA-600-RV-Gasoline-Generator-Set-RV-QG-5500-EFI/232604765760?hash=item3628530e40:g:HugAAOSwPgxVPCH j&vxp=mtr

And this one for $22 less.

and the install kit,

The install kit would have to be with either one you purchase, not sure how much the fuel pump kit is...can't imagine it would be over a couple hundred dollars though.

Just thought I'd pass that along, good luck with your purchase.

Let me 2nd the EFI recommendation, especially at $500. EFI will solve a fair number of hard start, no-start, ethanol-gas-carb issues that, at least in my opinion, are the majority of problems with generators.

That being said, my 2015 Carbon has a single generator fuel line.

I've never seen an installed EFI Onan and the above poster may very much be right that a return line IS required. Reading about retrofits, if you only have one line, it may be possible to do the return through the vent hose area at the rear tank.

+$500 is one heck of a deal... Looking online, I see that the price difference may very well be less than that for a 5500 watt onan... (at least online prices ~$4k)
