TT to Fifth wheel towing question

I currently have a Springdale 311 RE TT that is 35.5 feet ball to bumper.We are thinking about getting a Sprinter 357 FWLFT it is listed at 41.1 feet.How much longer combined lenght will the fifth wheel be than the TT?

Should I also be able fit the 5th wheel into the same sites that I can fit my TT into?
I never have towed a 5th wheel before and am concerned about being able to fit into campsites.

I have a 36 ft Laredo Fifth wheel and it can be challenging to get around some campgrounds. I would not want a 41 footer unless it was for a specific purpose at a known destination.

I'm not sure what you're asking about will a 41' fifth wheel fit in the same campsite as a 35' travel trailer. If you're asking will it maneuver into the site, yes, usually it will, but you'll need to be more careful about how the rear grows and you'll need to watch the front cap of the fifth wheel if you have a short bed truck and try to turn sharper than the clearance allows.

Now, will the trailer fit in the same sites, no, not unless they are long enough. Many of the "pull through" sites we've stayed in and most of the back in sites have a maximum length. Usually there's enough room for the truck/trailer combination on pull throughs and enough space for the trailer with truck parked beside it at backin sites. So, if the space for the back in is 37', your 35' trailer will fit but your 41' fifth wheel will hang out into the road. And, if the pull through is long enough for your truck/travel trailer to park, you'll probably be tight, but should fit with a 41' fifth wheel. But where you might have had a foot or so front/rear with the travel trailer, you'll probably be "at the curb" both front and rear with the fifth wheel.

But, as I'm sure you already know, you can fit a 35'5" trailer in a 36' site but you can't fit a 41' fifth wheel in a 36' site.

Well with part of the length of your 5th wheel being ahead of your truck rear bumper, I'm going to say yes that anywhere your were able to get your TT you should be able to get your 5th wheel if the site is big enough for the total length of the 5th wheel. From your truck bumper to the rear of either one should be pretty close. The 5th wheel in my opinion would be easier to get into the same space. The difference being that now you'll require 40ft campsites where as before you could get by with 35-36ft sites. If inquiring about a site you need to tell them you have a 40ft 5th wheel. Even with mine being 43ft I still tell them its 40ft.

You are adding about 5 1/2 ft of trailer but it may not be that much in total length since the 5-er hitch measurement should be from just forward of your truck's rear axle. So what is the distance from your current hitch's ball to the axle? If it's 4 ft., then you are talking an increase of about 1 1/2 ft. You will certainly notice a difference though in how much tighter/shorter the 5-er turns.
