Why would Canada or Mexico pay for a highway in the US? Does the US pay for highways in Canada leading to Alaska? Or to northern Ontario and Quebec. No they do not and are frequently travelled by our friends on the US side of border.

Rather than terminating NAFTA it would be in everyone's best interest to work with the Mexican Government and raise the minimum wage at 65 cents an hour nobody wins. As far as to why Canada would contribute to a US Highway please provide your reason. Michigan and Ontario are replacing the Ambassador Bridge which is privately owned. Canada is lending Michigan their share as they can't afford it yet Canada's reason is we both benefit.

This highway is being built to bring Mexican manufactured products to their market in Canada. Our highway system is second to none in the world. (Let's leave out the condition of said highway system) The United States stands to gain not at all with the added miles of interstate. We already had any number of ways to get Mexican goods to our own country.

Pray-tell what are we buying, you seem to know?
