While running the generator and fueling our quads, I hear this beer canning sound. I cracked open the gas cap, and sure enough the tank started gasping for air! Is there no vent or is the cap supposed to be vented?

I put 2 locking caps on mine and they were vented caps. I just took one of the stant caps that were on it and they matched them with a locking version.

Not here, If you take a cap to an auto store that sells Stant products they should be able to match it up. I got mine at Reilly auto parts as they sell them. If I can get to the camper today I'll see what the part # is as I have old caps in the new boxes.

That part # I guessing should work with most Keystone toy haulers.

I crawled under there last night to see if I could see a vent hose and yes it was there, it runs from the tank to the filler housing.I have not had a chance to see if its clear (unblocked) but assume it is and the cap has went on vacation.

Thank you for the information you posted here regarding the locking Stant gas cap. I found that the Stant #17591 locking gas caps fit my 2018 Keystone Raptor (generator and fuel station) and had ordered both caps from eBay that came with 2-day free shipping cheaper than O’Reilly.

Funny this should come up again. Even with a new cap I sometime have to remove the new cap, but not always? I don't understand why that is...:banghead:

Why do you have to open it sometimes?

It starts to collapse the fuel tank! Make all kinds of racket. Vent hose is clear and new cap is vented...

Someone had posted somewhere about his caps. Said you need to turn till they click, then back off till you feel resistance. Not sure on this theory.

I bought the Stant #10834T vented gas cap for my Fuzion 429. It fixed the banging noise from my gas tanks. T is for tethered. This is a vented gas cap which probably is not legal for emissions but I care more about getting rid of the banging noise.

Original caps on mine, never heard the tanks while fueling, they are vented some where and keep up to the pump.
