Tomorrow we will probably be moving the 5th Wheel to a storage area about 2 miles from our home.
It sits in a fairly nice spot but is in what must be at least 6 inches of gravel. The spot is angled down and away from the house. The down is roughly dropping 4" per 3' of driveway so that would make in about a 40" drop for the driveway length. The side drop is maybe 3" . But when I backed it in it settled some in the gravel. So much that that when I raised the landing gear and then tried to release from the pin it would not let me. Had to raise it and separate the hitch from the rails. And when I try to retract it says "front too low will not retract". Hoping when it get parked at the level storage spot it will no longer "be confused"...

It sounds like the latch might have pressure on the trailer pin, that happens to me I back up to release the latch pressure then I can pull the handle to open the latch. I don't understand sorry.

Looks to me like you need to extend those legs a little bit more, I try to use at least 6 holes and usually eight if the site will let me. It certainly looks like that site would have let you do that.

I agree with Javi. I think he's hit on the problem. It looks like the leg extensions are not out far enough and the upper leg is extended to the maximum (can't go further) so the system can't raise the trailer enough to get it level. If the lower part of the legs was extended further, the upper (driven) part of the landing gear could raise the trailer higher.

Yup! I agree with your assessment.

When I backed it in I had no idea the grade would cause me any issues. So here at 71 another learning moment.
Thanks for the info and will now be more aware of where/how I am parking. Thanks again.
