Recommendations on stair lights

Was hoping to get some real world recommendations/reviews on stair lights. We are regularly camped VERY close to others and hate having to turn outside lights on if getting in and out late.
See there are lots of options, curious what y'all have found that works best.

Our Cougar has a yellow clearance light mounted on the frame rail at the back of the cavity where the folding steps are installed. It is operated by the same switch as the porch light. Our porch light as a switch also, so I can turn it off and only use the yellow clearance light if I want less lighting in that area.

Good to know. That's about what I'm looking for. Been kicking around the idea of LED strips as well but definitely don't want to have to mitigate the movement aspect of them. A fixed light further in seems the way to go. Thanks
