Hello! Picked up a new Premier after enjoying our last Premier for 6 years in October. Already did a few modifications.

1. Added a drawer under the bed, right outside the bathroom to hold towels.
2. Added a drawer under the stove. Was previously a blank panel.
3. Added a Vortex fan and the “RV Chandelier” to the vent. There was no power so I added power to the vent area. Also put the light on a dimmer.
4. Added an LED porch light/scare light combo. It glows a soft yellow for porch or a very bright white for a flood or scare light.
5. Added a clear window in place of the frosted one from the factory.
6. Replaced the white light fixture with a softer linen shade style light over the table.
7. Added shelves in the wardrobes.
8. Added a light in the outdoor entertainment. You can also see the Steadyfast stabilizer bars added to the stabilizers in the last photo.

3. RV chandlier-where did you get that, part number and where did you put the dimmer switch? I like this mod!
4. Which scare light did you use? Is it motion detectable?

Really nice mods and great job on them.

The RV Chandelier was from Amazon, but have seen it at a few RV parts/accessory stores. Placed the dimmer in the ceiling with the wiring, it is a WiFi dimmer so it does not need line of sight to work.
The scare light may have been Camco, purchased it at Camping World. It is not motion detectable, I used a three way switch.

What do you think about the vortex fan? I can’t decide between that or the maxxair?

It’s pretty decent. Never had a Maxxair so I can not compare. It is much better than the stock bathroom fan.
One advantage of the Vortex is you can install it in your existing vent easily, no need to mess with the roof seal and caulking.

Super nice mods you are very handy, they look great! I'm interested in the clear window how do I go about getting that I see it opens too?

Thanks! It was very easy to do. It’s a kit from Edwin. Basically just unscrew the inside trim ring, pull out the existing window, place the new window in and screw in the new trim ring that they supply. It has its own seal so no need for caulking. A second person to help hold the window would make it easier to do.

Much better than duct tape and hoping it stays in place until you can get a screw or two into place.

I ran a wire from the vent location, through the ceiling to above the corner glass cabinet. I made a small hole in the ceiling in the cabinet towards the corner. I ran the wires down through the cabinet to the bottom. Under that cabinet is the converter and tapped into 12v wiring there.

I did another mod yesterday and today. Since it is winter and there are no trips until April, it is mod season!

I added a vent to the range hood. Instead of it recirculating, it now vents to the outside. Other than building up the nerve to cut a hole in the side of the camper, it was relatively easy and inexpensive.

How did you go about putting the drawer under the bed? Did it open from the top to begin with or was the bed screwed down? In my old camper it lifted for storage but in my new 333MKS it is screwed down. The drawer would be a great idea for storage.

it did open from the top and there is nothing under the bed, the storage space was empty. If yours is screwed down it may mean that there is a holding tank or something else underneath.

No holding tank, just rails for the slide. I would have to look to see how much space between the side of the bed and the rails. How did you go about putting in the drawer? Probably easy for someone who knows what they are doing. LOL

Ahh so it sounds like you may have room to put a drawer up above the rails.

1- I determined the drawer size and ordered a cabinet door that matches the interior woodwork from Trekwood. I found a door that would fit closest to the size drawer I wanted. then, I built the drawer "box" out of plywood. I attached the cabinet door to the drawer box to create the completed drawer.

2- I cut the hole in the face of the bed. I added the supports that the drawer glides would be mounted to under the bed.

3- I added the full extension drawer glides to the drawer and to the supports under the bed.

4- I slid the drawer into place.

I hope this helps! Its the steps in basic form.

Added central vac to the trailer today. Mounted it under the bed. The hose reaches the entire trailer. I had to add an outlet for the vac to plug into.

Love the central hvac modification. Was thinking of possibly putting it in the middle of the trailer as many trailers have the refrigerator next to the wall that houses the shower bath tub. I'm thinking this might be a good place to put it without taking up space under the master bed storage.. Does anybody know the clearance Under or behind the tub against the wall? Wondering if I can squeeze it in underneath the corner of the bath tub so that the port is out in the kitchen area.

cmerkert,
Not sure on the layout of your trailer but from the pics and the size of the vac it might fit under the vanity in the bath.
Greg,
Nice mods:bow:
How did you attach the wire shelves in your wardrobe? I need to make some pantry modifications on my Cougar and the wire shelves might work better than wood.

The vac definitely seems like it would fit in the vanity. It is about 14” high and maybe 6-7” square. The only advice is that I wouldn’t want the hose to plug into the receptacle where it has to turn a lot of corners. The hose will rub and scratch the finish on the doorways, cabinets etc. Where I located it u dr the bed, the hose “path” would be pretty unobstructed for the majority of the trailer.

To mount the shelves, I used prefinished cove molding to create a ledge. I applied construction adhesive (Liquid Nails) to the back of the molding, pressed it in place, and used my small brad nailer to hold it. Then I placed the shelves on top of the molding.
Between the small brads and the adhesive, it is very solid. I did the same in my last camper and they were still solidly in place 6 years after when I traded it in.

Greg,
Thank You.On the our Cougar the pantry faces forward and factory shelf supports are plastic adjustable. I don't need them to be adjustable and was going to do 1'x2' supports for the pantry shelves. Then I was going to put a 1/4 round on the front lip of the shelves to help keep items on the shelf. Wire looks like it might be a better option I have some laying around from my garage project.

That sounds like a good idea! My last camper I used prefinished shelving that happened to match the stain color near perfectly. I couldn’t find a color match for my new Premier so I went with the beige wire shelving instead.

I got so excited when I saw your drawer under the oven - I thought for sure I was going to surprise my wife with some extra storage - pulled my panel off and found our hot water heater haha. I walked all through my camper a few times and I don't really see anywhere that has not already been utilized. Ours is a 2013 Springdale 266RLSRWE so not the same but I feel like there are a ton of posts where people have found hidden storage area. Alas - not such luck for me.

The drawer you added and later the cabinet door to the sofa table are ingenious and look factory. Props on your handy work.

I believe this is the one that I ordered, but, it looks a little different in person. I am happy with it but I do wish it produced a bit more heat.

I can concur...those are some pretty useful mods. Now that our camper is winterized we are beginning our long list of mods as well. Thanks (or no thanks!) to your post I can add a few more. One was replacing the mattress with a 10"Lucid Memory Foam mattress. That being said; there is no way we would ever be able to lift the 1/4" piece of wood that separates it from the storage area. We will be installing drawers.

I was wondering if you had any ideas about how to better utilize the outdoor kitchen? We have never used the mini frig in it and I could see it being a useful area for something else. Right now I have been placing the outdoor mat on the copper countertop but that is about it.

We have a Premier Bullet as well so your mods are super relative. It would be great if all Bullet owners could keep this thread open so we could bounce ideas off each other.

So far we have replaced some light fixtures, removed the dinette and added a reclining loveseat, and added an electric fireplace under the tv in the "living room". That was inspired from this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK4eJrBJIb4

Just trying to give credit where credit is due, its a great video. Waiting on Trekwood to call me back regarding some trim since my fireplace had some gaps on the left and right of it. Everybody in the RV world operates in slow motion!

Keep us updated with your progress. Thanks again.

Keep us updated with your progress. Thanks again.

You might want to consider starting a "Bullet/Premier Owner's Group" in the Community section of the forum. That way you can all stay in touch via threads dedicated to your specific trailer line without the "visibility and often times interference" from those who aren't interested or who don't have the "unique interest that Bullet owners share".....

You can access that section of the forum by clicking on the Social Groups link in the "pull down menu" under the COMMUNITY tab in the top bar of every forum webpage.

While you're all "perfectly OK" posting the discussion here, you may get a more "focused contributor population" in the Social Groups section.....

Thanks for the suggestion. It looks as if there may already be a Bullet social group but it doesn't look like it gets any action. Although this post caught my eye because it is similar to my RV I think this information on the mods is relevant to any type of RV and gregrc75 does a great job explaining it. I wouldn't want this good stuff to get buried.

Greg, great job on the vent! One of the first things I noticed was that the stove vent in my Premier 26 is.........There is none! It vents inside which means it will not work at all . I would be afraid I would cut some darn wiring. way to go on cutting the hole. Nice cover you got for it too. You should come camp at my place for a couple of weeks this summer. I did a few minor mods this spring.

1. Added “shiplap” wallpaper behind the TV. Combined with the white subway tile in the kitchen, it brightens up the interior without having to paint anything.

2. Added an 110v outlet in the dinette seat. We did not have any 110v in the street side slide out.

3. Added a 12v puck light to the underside of the door in the outside entertainment.

I used the slide out wire support that was already there for the 12v wires. I believe it’s called a flex guard kit. I copied what the factory did. I ran the 110v wire through some split flexible wire tubing. There was room for me to add it next to the existing wire.

I hope you used multistrand wire (similar to a heavy gauge extension cord) rather than solid strand wire (similar to ROMEX)… The single strand wire will "fatigue" and create a fire hazard as it weakens, eventually breaking and interrupting your power to the outlet. If you used multistrand wire, great !!!

I am so in awe and jealous of your abilities! I thought I was doing good with taking out the bunks and turning that area into a closet!! I wish I had your talents, sir - I truly do!! I DID change out all of the halogen bulbs for LEDs, and while they aren't quite as bright, I could tell the change was made 'just in time'. There were heat marks in almost ALL of the fixtures, and several of the bulbs were heat darkened. Thankfully, my DiL had warned me about leaving the lights ON in a camper, due to fire danger. The change over to LED bulbs was cheap and easy.

This is interesting. I almost used that but saw I had regular Romex and went with that. I’ll take your advice and rewire the part that flexes under the slide. Thanks for that info.

Hello,
Sorry I didn't see this reply. I built it myself. Just used full extension drawer glides and built the box out of plywood. I used oak for the drawer front.
