The hitch is secured, so what’s the problem?

Oh yeah the 7 way isn’t plugged in so no turn signals. :facepalm:

Looks OK to me.:angel::nonono::nonono:

Way many years back, a 5th wheel hitch was mounted on a car's roof - the Harmon Shadow. There were others too

I also remember a couple station wagons with the hitch on the roof back in the day. I believe the situation above was started with "Here, hold my beer and watch this!"
I had popcorn left over from a previous post. Anyone mind if I finish it now?

This "trunk mount", well, it sure looks "iffy" to me...... Definitely needs a bigger strap, so maybe a quick trip to Harbor Freight ???? :whistling:

I remember several different types of "roof hitches" through the years. The Harmon Shadow was a trailer marketed in the 60's and 70's. Produced in both a "kit form" and as a complete trailer, it was available to anyone who could get financing. It was more a novelty, featured in Popular Science and Popular Mechanics, it didn't catch on, but there's still some sitting in barns along with those "almost new Corvettes and Cadillacs". They pop up every once in a while. http://www.doityourselfrv.com/harmon-shadow-trailer-innovative-hitch-design-wasnt-popular/

Another was the Ultimate series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XixtZqpILm4

I remember seeing a picture of a 5th wheel someone put a tongue on the back of it and pulled it backwards.

Here's the size strap I was thinking should have been used on that hitch.... Well, after they get done with using it to tie down that load of dirt.....

I don't see a plug in for the trailer lights or the safety cable either!!

Aftert viewing the pic of the guy tying down the load of dirt and the buddy with the 5er hitch strapped to the deck lid I am really having a tough time here folks. I'd be the first to admit I've done a few stuipid things in my life, usually involving alcohol, but my sh*t pales in comparrison these darwin candidates especially using a ratchet strap to hold a what 7-8000 pound trailer to your mid 90's "unibody" car. These people are actually allowed to wander around freely amoungst us??? I truly hope this is a joke and not some good 'ol boy that is only moving down it I75 "a mile or two" and that his "uncle brother" told him he was good to go.

That’s how certain politicians are elected and tenured bureaucrats prevail. Legal perpetuating of sickness.:banghead:
