Our first was a tent camper too. Bought it used. The first season we didn't get to use it at all. The next year we were on our way Memorial Day weekend and someone T-boned the tent camper. Sold it to the repair shop, actually made a profit on it. Our next one was a Passport 2013 238ML.

1998 Jayco Eagle 12. We bought it in 2015 and gave it to our daughter when we bought the Cougar earlier this year.

I'm 70 years old and have been camping all my life. As poor farmers, camping was the only way my parents could afford a vacation... And as farmers, vacations were few and far between! I have camped with only an old army surplus blanket (while squirrel hunting as a kid), to tents, to pop ups, to truck bed campers, to tagalongs, and now have purchased our "second home" - a 2017 Cougar 303rls. I'm retired now and plan to use this one for as long as we can keep on the road! We love camping... always have... always will!!!

Shortly after getting married in 1974, my wife and I bought a 1973 Ford Courier, and a shell for the back. We camped all over the western states with that thing. With a weak carbureted 4 cylinder the problem was high elevations. If we stopped on a grade at 5,000' or more, it barely had enough power to get going again. Lots of fun though! Once we had kids it was tents into the 1990s, and then we succumbed to motels until our new trailer this summer.

First time was in 2000 with a brand new 36 foot fifth wheel and brand new chevy K3500 dually CC. Called the campground and asked if we could fit and was given the green light. Got in late and had to camp in a field until the CG owners got in. The first sign of trouble came when we ran accross so many low branches the owners had to lead us to three different sites clearing the way with a pole saw. When we did finally get to a site there was a slight chance of getting into, it started to rain. It probably took me about 30 minutes to see-saw the trailer into the site with 6+ inch divots caused by dragging the trailer axles from side to side. Oh yeah, we were just visiting a friend for the weekend so I got to reverse the procedure two nights later.

Our first real trailer was a used 91' 19' Terry Resort. We took this sucker all over the place for years.
