First glitch on move to Idaho

We have the 5th wheel with a few remaing things and stopped in Bend overnight at the Holiday Inn. Left the motel, Patti is following in the car, and she flashed the headlights behind me... We have no tail lights or running lights, just brake and turn signals. So we are back at the motel waiting for the sun to pop up so we can finish the move to Coeur d'Alene.

We always check brake lights, turn signals, flashers... Have never truly checked running lights or tail lights. Never have driven it anything close to nighttime.
Hoping it is not a problem from the factory.

If you have some wd40 spray the connector, then work the plug in and out of the connector several times.. then take a paper towel and wipe out excess and plug in and turn lights on and see if that fixes the issue

If you have the aftermarket in bed plug, that chinese circuit may be defective. Unplug it from the system and plug into the factory plug by the bumper. Worth a try...

All I remember is that we had it installed for our old 5th wheel at a shop on Hwy 50 in Carson City. The taillights did work then...
Will be checking each "receptacle" on the 7 point probably tomorrow...

Your Silverado has a separate fuse for the trailer taillights. It is located in the underhood fuse box on the drivers side. It is labeled "TRL PRK" and is 15 amp.

In the same box you have separate fuses for left and right turn as well as trailer back up lights. Make sure you also have the 40 amp maxifuse installed to charge the trailer battery.

Used to have a 1990 Chevy PU and it had the paddle type headlight switch. I was pulling a trailer across northern Missouri and heard a trucker alert his buddies to watch out for a trailer with no tail lights. Turned out to be me. The paddle switch had failed. I had headlights but no tail lights on the truck or trailer. Had to jimmy rig it on the side of the road.

Why would you not check tail lights? Easy to do at same time as brake and turn. In case you don't know, all you have to do is put your parking lights and 4 ways on. The brake, turn and 4 ways on the trailer use the same wire and bulb element so if the 4 ways work you have brake and turn signal. You'll see the dimmer tail lights between flashes

That was it... Finally have a bunch of spare time and am catching up on rearranging, reorganizing so today I tackled the lights and sure enough!!!
Will be going to the auto parts to pick up some spare 10a, 15a, 30a fuses for myself and others down the road. Have a couple of spades of others but no 15a extras...
