As we were up and the trailer winterizing it and getting it all set for the cold months ahead, a dude pulling a 5'er (can't remember what kind), came into the camprground and was making his rounds trying to find a good spot. He was making a turn and was not paying attention to the stuff above and crunched right into a hanging wooden lamp post, crushing that and getting it pretty much stuck on his roof< He cut the corner way to close, not giving enoigh swing around the bend and post.He backed up back and forth a few time and I am sure did more damage to the roof and lamp post. I could not see any damage as he drove buy but I bet cha!! Funny thing is, he found a spot and seemed like he didn't care about anything.. Will let the office know about that if he has not..:eek::ermm: WHat have you seen?????

I've seen a customer come pick up his fiver with his brand new truck, forget to check the hitch lock, raise the landing gear and drop the unit in his bed.

Boss was in a hurry and backed a customers 2017 F350 under a king pin, close the tailgate and pull out, ripping the tailgate off...I could go on.

We were in Utah around Bryce or? on a twisty, narrow 2 lane that specifically limited RVs. Came around a corner (very twisty) and there was a guy pulling a way over length 5th wheel that had tried to make a corner and the inside tires of the trailer had fallen over the edge of the road, hanging on the embankment. There were 2 big 4x4s sitting at different angles to him on the road trying to get him out. They pulled the rig sideways, front etc. The tires were rolling, the side panels were hanging on trees along with the sewer lines. They just kept pulling and tugging getting him back up while he watched/tried to help. Finally he was up on the road again, lots of damage, and the large crowd that had been stopped clapped for those helping. I'm sure it happens quite often but.......how??

We were at a campground around Corsicana, TX when a family pulled in beside us with both AC units smashed and nearly ripped off. I have no idea what they hit but I do know it was about 8 - 10 inches too low. :banghead:

Headed south on I-75 in the northern part of Michigan a 5th wheel headed north had nearly his whole roof flapping in the breeze behind him. I think the same week a travel trailer headed south across the Mackinaw bridge had it's awning break loose and the tube was pointing straight up in the air and the awning looked like a sailboat. He was going slow and a pickup was keeping people from getting too close incase it all cut loose. The State Police were trying to get to him but they couldn't get through the backup before he got off.

And many more

Got out the lawn chairs last summer one Sunday (along with 1/2 the campground) to watch an expensive motorhome try to get out of his spot. His rear tires had sunk in a little into the ground, combo of soft ground and A/C dripping right down onto the axle on on side. Owner of campground had told guy to come get him when he wanted to leave and he could help and they would get him out. MH owner didn't wait, still had his truck parked in front of his MH (and our truck across the road from him!), and proceeded to rev MH to get it out. Pedal to the floor in forward and reverse. Only managed to sink in up to the axle. Did I mention he still had his leveling feet down also? MH don't move too well with a combination of the two. Idiot then got out of the MH, moved his truck, and tried again. Of course, it didn't move. He goes up to the office, ends up calling for a semi tow truck which had to come from an hour away, on Fathers Day, to tow him out. After getting him out, they had to pry the leveling feet up to get them to retract enough to drive. And he then wanted the campground owners to pay his $800 tow...

During a December Elk hunt. Guy was pulling a 28 ft or so TT on a road in 2 ft of snow. That I would not pull a TT on when clear. Big a** trees all long the edges, roadway maybe 12 ft wide. 90% turns every few hundred feet. He made it part way up the steepest part with a grade way beyond 6%. And slid backwards into the big a** tree at the last 90 turn. It stopped him from going into the canyon just off the road. Only way out I guessed was getting pulled up the hill. The vehicles were gone the next day. Unknown who helped. I tried but, no way without a heavy winch and truck anchored to a tree or lots and lots of cable. They vehicles were not seen camping anywhere in the area that week. Only guessing a class A tow truck got him out. Rear of TT was smashed up badly.

All of your stories reminds me about what old farts and Farmers Insurance have in common: "We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two."
I love the moose antler commercial.....:D

We were at the Grand Canyon Railway RV park and watched a man in a beautiful Tiffin coach tear up the side of his coach leaving his site. The CG has I-beam posts at the front of the sites, why I do not know, but he raked his rig from front to back on it. The wife tried to get him to stop but he was not having any of it. It was a pull thru site so why he did not just back out of it puzzles me as it was a very tight turn to get out. Some people.

Bob, I had seen that video before, but it was so good I called DW in and we watched it again. I am surprised that with so much help most all were able to get on the same page helping.
