There are lots of kits out there, but here is my home made version.

In the photos you will see the fan on the frig, it’s simply zip tied to the shelf. It’s easy and non permanent. The wire is seen going to a magnetic switch, so it only runs when the door is closed. I used the same hole used for the drain to get the wire to the outside compartment. In the outside compartment I have a small power distribution board with small fuses, and three switches. One switch turns off the fan, the middle one is for future use and third turns on my LED lights on the awning.

Did pretty much the same thing on my last two units. Here in Florida, the frig needs all it help it can get. Makes a big difference. Plus, figured I saved the cost of batteries for the portable unit that I had been using. I plan to add two more fans at the top vents to pull outside air in from the bottom vents and exhaust through the top ones. Nice Mod, you'll be glad you did it.

geobet: normal installation of the fans for the cooling unit is BELOW the upper fins. Better air flow as it will PULL from bottom and PUSH out the top.

Checkster57: Thanks. Once it cools off a bit I'll give your tip a shot. BTW, any benefit to add fans at both the bottom AND the top?

I put one fan at the bottom using a kit available at the parts counter. I can keep my ice cream frozen in 105 degree heat and NO shade.
