Heard a "pop" with my rig last week. Turned out to be the water overflow line
breaking away loose. Got underneath and reconnected it then only to have no
hot water and no hw pressure. Not sure if it is the heating element, since there was no water flowing to wh or not. Any ideas? Waiting back from dealer to see if they have heating element to try it.
WH is Suburban SW12DE on 37' Raptor Toy Hauler:confused:

If you have no water pressure coming out of the hot water side of your faucets, it could be that both the bypass and input/output valves on the water heater are closed.

Actually, that is a pretty good water heater. What would you rather have? (Other than one that shot hot water out the faucet) And that element can be had at most good hardware stores/plumbing supply houses. Be sure to turn it off AND unplug your shore power and check for continuity first.

It's my opinion so take it for what it's worth. I'm not seeing any way these two events are connected. The vent (water overflow) has nothing to do with either the water pump or city water connecting to the WH. Do you have other water at your faucets?

The water pressure declined and would not heat, right after we reconnected the hose

wondering how they would have been changed from the way it was running before the hose popped apart

Any ideas? Waiting back from dealer to see if they have heating element to try it. Element ? Is it only the electric side not working ? Idea sure. It's possible if water heater was on when this happened it emptied it's self and restarted then over heated and ECO (emergency cut off) or thermal cut out took over and locked it out.

The water pressure declined and would not heat, right after we reconnected the hosePressure decline may be from sediment in water heater that suddenly went everywhere when pressure was lost, possibly. This sediment may have entered the exiting hot feed line causing it to get restricted and possibly plugging later down the road. Hot water hose may need to be back flushed. Tell us what the dealer finds.
