Welcome to the forum!!
Congrats on your new purchase. Prodigy is the best IMO. Easy to install and very simple to set up.

If your truck came with the "tow package" there is probably a harness available for your controller.

Thanks . It does have the tow package and I see the harness where the oem brake controller would be. I will check out the prodigy unit!

If the harness you see is just the 4 wires, then the prodigy will come with the pig tail. Just make sure which wire is which.

can the prodigy be used to replace the low end factory brake controller that comes in the truck?

I'll throw in a recommendation on this one....

You can put the controls where you can easily see AND reach them. I had it on my last truck and really liked it. Now it's in my brothers truck as my new truck has a built in controller. If I were to buy another, I buy the Hopkins In-Sight again without question.

Yes, but it might not fit in the same spot.

Prodigy is what we had installed Saturday, easy to use and worked well on the trip home.
