Radio Antenna

We have the Furrion system and the FM signal is crap. I don't see an antenna on the top of our RV so i'm guessing its using a built in one. Has anyone pulled theirs out to see if we can add one?

It gets its signal from the TV antenna. If turning on the booster doesn't help, then it's time to pull the radio and verify the coax is in the antenna hole and not the IR remote hole.

There is an FM antenna connection on the side of the radio. Typically, there is a "T" FM antenna coiled up behind the radio and attached to that connection. Often all it takes is to unwind and string that antenna so it has better reception. To remove your radio, there are 4 #2 Roberts screws on the faceplate. Remove them and the radio pulls straight out. I have not seen a 2018 XLite radio, so it may have a "faceplate trim strip" that you need to use your fingernails to pull off before you can see the screws. On the older ones, the screws were visible when you were directly in front of the radio.

Thanks guys, i'll pull it out and take a look. There is a trim piece, i popped that off to see what it would take to pull it.

Depending on what type radio antenna connection there is....
Standard car radio antenna is generally referred to as Motorola style. In recent years from the 90s, different auto manufacturing began using different types. I am not sure if a Furrion would use a sad. Motorola or something different. It could also be something RV specific since I've seen some RV radios are a multimedia unit that's only sold for RV.
Mine has a Sony double DIN unit that u can buy for automotive use. I have been getting great reception where I live (Ft. Lauderdale area). And get some Miami stations cleanly. But want to tinker a bit with a booster.
So VW style in the 2000's era had a factory amplified antenna. Metra Electronics makes a antenna adapter meant to use if swapping OEM radio out. They also make the companion 'reverse' adapter. The amplified adapter peice has a 12v switched input wire you connect to radio switched power. Could be a cheap useful booster alternative. I plan on trying it one day

The Antenna connector is hooked up to the catv cable which must go to the tv antenna so i'll just crank that up next time and see if it improves.

It should be connected to the TV2, or radio on the back side of the booster. "Cable" should be the coax from the outside to the booster for park cable.
