View Full Version : Touch light control for porch light.

Our Lance truck camper has a little metal pad on the outside by the door which just needs to be touched in order to turn on the porch light. The light then comes on for 30 seconds or so. It helps light up the door lock making entry much easier on a dark night.

I have never seen that setup sold through the aftermarket. Does anyone know where I could find this setup so I could install it in my 5th wheel?

Can't help you with your question but I am sure interested in what you find out. Sounds like a great idea and very helpful. Sure would decrease the number of flying bugs to fight through due to leaving a light on while out. Good luck.

I've seen those, but from what I've seen they come on when people walk by, trees move in the wind etc.

I don't know if that's the case. I usually leave it on or turn it off when I retire for the night.

Your search led me to the link below which is closer to what I am after. They have a few capacitive touch circuit boards which would work with a proper mounting system. The link below looks great though. If it's weatherproof I'm going to pick one up.
