Anybody who uses Photobucket for image hosting (like me) is in for a shocker. As of July they have updated their terms of service (http://photobucket.com/terms) to prohibit image linking and/or 3rd party hosting with free accounts. After years of using their service, tolerating their terrible adds and slow website, they have proceeded to alienate the majority of their user community with this change. This will affect a large number of forums and historical posts with pictures that are no longer available.

So long Photobucket...

Let me show you all what I think about that

Just a broken link to a photo, the one with the corner broken off.

I think the days of free photo hosting are probably over. Photobucket has been pretty terrible for years to actually see pictures on their site due to the ads. It looks like though they decided it was time to end the 3rd party hosting unless you pay an insane amount of money to them.

I've been using www.SmugMug.com which is owned by the same gentleman that runs a national motorcycle forum I've been a member for well over 10 years. A lot of professional photographers use SmugMug to showcase their professional photos. For basic photo storage and linking a basic account would suit most. The great thing is there is no limit on photo storage. I have over 160gb of photos stored on that site. It's $3.99/mo or $47.88/yr to host unlimited pictures and showcase them!

You can get $5.00 off using this coupon code. - https://secure.smugmug.com/signup?Coupon=Y2l43o9LVBERU

So you see what?

Well, I see a photo of your camper parked in your yard - picket fence and all - works okay here?

I suppose it's always a personal choice for each member to decide where to "store" their photos and to possibly link them to this forum from another site.

HOWEVER: The forum does have a stand alone photo support system. You can upload photos directly from your computer, laptop, tablet or phone (memory storage) to the forum software without using a third site. It's really much easier than linking to a "off forum website" and it will remain a part of the forum, show with every display of that response and not be "lost in space" should the "linked site go down"....

I'd suggest members consider simply posting their photos using the forum's photo capability and be assured that as long as this forum is operational their photos will also be operational on every post where they place a photo.
