So one of my interstate batteries is dead and won't hold a charge, took it to get tested and the auto parts store said it was no good.

I didn't want to buy a new one until I was sure what to get, I'm not sure if our campers can charge the newer AGM style batteries or not.

This battery powers my leveling jacks, the second one that starts my generator works fine.

We leave in two days so I don't have time to try some fancy 6v type setup and we never boon dock anyways.

My current has 405 cca and 505 mca, our camping world only has excide batteries with 500 mca 149 min reserve and 80 amp hrs @ 20 hrs.

With this Excide be okay or is there a better battery that is normally locally sold everywhere?

I know this is more of a maintenance issue but since I need to know what the toy haulers need I thought I would ask here. Most of the battery threads are a year or two old so the most current and best battery is what I'm looking for.

Since you're looking for a quick replacement of a 12V RV battery I would suggest another Interstate. That's what I use and I've had good results with them. Make sure you get their highest rated battery.

I am not a fan of Exide and have used them. That is the brand that was on my trailer from CW and the one that failed in 1 1/2 years. I'm sure others feel differently but they just don't seem to be as serviceable as the Interstate. JMO

I've used interstate for years and have had good luck with them. I have two in mine now, one for the coach and one for the genny. Past 3 years old and still fine.

Just a thought, but you may want to take this opportunity (IMHO) to move to a 6v replacement option. If your current batteries were purchased at the same time, the remaining battery is likely to be suspect as well. Did you have it tested with the other battery? Since they worked together to provide the 12v needed for your rig the "good" battery had to work harder to make up for the "bad" one. At least have the second battery tested and if you wind up replacing both consider two 6v batteries. They are roughly the same price and are a much better option for RV's, especially if you dry camp much at all.

The best battery you can buy these days is an Odyssey. A couple of 6v's would be optimum, but since you don't boondock they aren't necessary.

The converter in your 2015 trailer should charge an AGM or otherwise.

If the two batteries are connected together, you really should buy two batteries. If not, it doesn't matter.

I should have mentioned the only place that sells interstate batteries it two hrs away, if that was local I would have bought one and not had to have asked. That was a key part I should have mentioned.

I don't think my batteries are connected, they both have separate grounds and are not connected by any cables.

The're in the front, the right side battery has it's pos/neg cables going into the generator bay. The left battery pos goes back to some junction with other wires and the ground is posted to the frame.

I just looked up the odyssey battery, I was thinking the best battery in the $200 range. Those are are $400-600 here in town!

I just Googled Sears Platinum Batteries (I'm told Odyssey makes them). The hits also showed the Odyssey sold by 4Wheel Parts for $155.
