we have a 2010 montana 3400rl and the fridge is warm and the freezer is cold....im wondering if there is a residential fridge that will fit in the same space and would there be much to installing it
its a double size nor cold or "no cold"

Residential fridges need shore power all the time or a larger battery bank + inverter + a way to recharge them. You don't say how or where you plan on using the fridge. I'd really think this through first.

I haven't exchanged one, but a friend of ours did have a Norcold failure in an 8CuFt model. He pulled the refrigerator, used 2" foam sheeting to line the back of the sidewall and left the two vents in place. He bought a small refrigerator from Lowe's that essentially bolted into the same space. He was happy with the modification and, like you, he was using his trailer as a "fish camp" on a permanent site and only needed an electric refrigerator, so it was a good choice for him.

Something to consider: If you're considering trading/selling your trailer, you need to realize that you'll take a significant "hit" on resale value from any potential purchaser who wants the functionality of a LP/electric refrigerator. For them to purchase a replacement and have it installed will, for an 8 CuFt model, cost about $1500, so if you're considering selling, it may be cheaper to keep the original reefer and buy a replacement cooling system (about $800).

I had that same problem last year left rv on lot for the winter, the squirrel or chipmunk chewed a whole threw the vent on roof went under the screen .and filled the back of the fridge with leaves an acorns.we had to remove the fridge and clean all the coils and vacuumed everything.put it back in rv and lt worked as good as new.I almost tried it on propane before we found the leaves.Good thing we didnt.it probably would of went up in smoke.
