Anyone have this sewer outlet setup?

My brother-in-laws 2010 Fusion Toyhauler came with a swing out sewer hose carrier as depicted in the picture below. It really works well and I would like to set up my Raptor the same way. With the sewer outlet located where the living area slide is the swing arm makes conection very easy especially since the hose is contained inside the carrier.

Has anyone else seen this hose carrier set up? I've taken all necessary measurements to fabricate the metal swing arm. The actual ABS carrier housing is the EZ Hose Carrier available from many RV parts sellers. I'm uncertain however, where to buy the large black flexible hose (sized to fit over and clamped to the 4 5/8" O.D. ABS carrier). I have seen similar looking hose at the home stores but they are plastic and will not bend as readily as the one in the picture. I believe the hose in the picture is made of rubber. By the way the large rubber hose is not clamped where is fits over the sewer outlet under the trailer.

I have not been able to find the swing arm carrier online. If anyone has knowledge where I can purchase the outfit I would appreciate the information. Thanks in advance any information or comments.

Did that set-up come from the Factory that way or is that a mod. that the dealer or someone else may have added-on?

I have that system on our 2011 Montana 3400RL and I think it sucks eggs (but smells alot worse).

I will be removing the flex hose sheild from the rigid pipe, installing a shut off valve on the end of the dump pipe and putting another cap on the rigid pipe turning it into a hose holder, period. On my unit, it leaks (when all current factory valves are closed) and due to the mounting position will not swing 180 degrees if the dump is located behind the trailer.

I fear this is a prime example of what American Engineers will be producing when us boomers retire!! :mad:

Dumping the black tank is always less than pleasurable! I'm considering a portable (in a suitcase) SaniCon Maserator system. I had one before, however it was installed & hard wired, whereas the one for a TT is attached each time for use. You're opinion!! Anyone have this portable unit?

After looking at the above photos of the swing-out sewer hose setup, my first impressions are that it looks far too complicated and not very "user friendly. It seems like you have to crawl under the trailer to set up portions of it and that there are too many various types of pipes and hoses to deal with.
Empyting the tanks, while not the most enjoyable task, isn't all that complicated. Emptying the black tank isn't any more unpleasant than doing the others IMHO. On most units, all of the tanks pipes come into a common one. You pull 3 or 4 valves and wait for each tank to empty.
I think Paddler may be right. How many engineers does it take to design a simple sewer outlet for 3 or 4 holding tanks? This setup looks like a simplified version of the Canada Arm on the Space Shuttle. Perhaps Keystone got in touch with the folks who designed it.
The "Lippert Sewer Management System" won't be on my list of mods and upgrades I'm afraid.

My Alpine came with it but I don't use it. It is not big enough to store a 20' hose in it so it becomes pointless if you need more than a 10' hose and I have found that is the norm for me.

Terri, thanks for the very helpful links it is much appreciated and what I was hoping for. For a couple other replies, well, I did say "thanks in advance for any information or comments, which I suppose includes opinions. This is only my second post so now I see how it works.

My brother-in-laws Sewer Boom, which is far better depicted in the helpful links Terri provided over my pictures, is neither difficult to reach nor complicated. So simple in fact a child would understand it and find it very user friendly - IMHO. I can see where it may work better on certain RV's than others. I also learned that Lippert Components who makes the system now provides longer housing tubes that accommodate a 20' hose. An existing setup with a shorter tube could easily be converted to a longer tube.

Personally, I don't see a need for 180 degree turn radius which would require the housing tube to sit completely outside of the exterior wall of the coach. The mounting bracket and swival arm allows it to rest just inside the exterior wall.

I generally go to a Hard pipe for the duration. Nosed around the site and found some clear PVC pipe (install a small section to see when black runs clean), bit pricy but, if I can talk a few others into the idea ..... or find a supply house that carries it. Figure I only need about 12-18 inches for the looky-see section.

Have one it's the only thing I kept from the old camper. Use it alot just put the hose in a toilet close to an outside door or as I did at my parents A cap to the septic and from a couple of hundred feet away no problem other than hauling the hose

Just finished converting my swing arm system to a sewer hose holder with removable caps on each end, it holds twenty feet of hose. I also installed a shut off knife valve at the end of the dump pipe. This setup allows for more flexibility and if I want to use the swing arm, I still can.

Overall I think the swing arm sewer hose holder was a pretty good idea but at least on my rig it was executed poorly.
1. Swing arm as not able to rotate a full 180 degrees.
2. The setup did not have a shut off valve located at the end of the dump pipe. I was at the mercy of cable pull shut off valves which are known for leakage and even NEW did leak.

Jg1031, I have a Flojet macerator pump for my 318SAB and I love it. I use a clear plastic coupling between the connection and the pump. The thing is clean when you finish. I have used a75 foot garden in one instance where I has a long way from the septic inlet and it worked fine. I didn't use my drinking water hose however. Ha,ha.

How do you connect the hard pipe to your trailer sewer pipe? Any reason you don't use one of the clear pipe twist ons available?
