New RV, spot in floor not glued

Hi - Brought our new summerland 2200 home last week - really excited about it, nice unit. We discovered a "loose" spot / area on the vinyl floor between the sink and bed about 14" in diameter that appears to not be glued down. Seems minor - not worth the trip back to the dealer (just under an hour away). Would it be possible to inject some glue in the affected area ? It seems like a simple job. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have seen a flooring guy do that same thing on our house. He made a small hole on a seam and injected some adhesive. Put a weight on it overnight and problem solved. Hope yours is just as easy.

It's my understanding that the vinyl flooring in almost all travel trailers is not glued down. It's only attached at the walls and is otherwise a free-floating installation. I believe that is because of past problems with cracked/torn vinyl during the winter. You might want to do some research to verify how your flooring is supposed to be installed before you start modifying it. That's not to say don't do it, rather, just make sure you do it correctly.....

Thanks for your help. I saw a video on the construction of similar units, and they spread adhesive across the wood floor and then placed the vinyl on top while pressing it further down with rollers. I assumed that was the case here due to the symptoms appearing on my floor - tight everywhere else, no give, but a loose area as described previously. I will contact the service tech at the dealer prior to doing anything. Once again, thanks

I know for a fact that Grand Designs and Cruiser are NOT glued down.

Spoke with the service people at the dealer; they said that the floor was only secured at the edges and that some areas would seem looser than others. Also that the spot in question might tighten up and another area might appear dependent upon temperature, humidity etc. Will keep post updated as necessary. Thanks again

We have had units with "waves" in the flooring. If your spot is just "loose" I wouldn't mess with it. Keep an eye on it and just make sure it doesn't get any worse. Vinyl floor repair in an RV is a real PITA.
