I am looking for ideas on how to store the 50 amp power cord. What do people do with this thing? Do you bag it, wrap it, hang it, fold it? I am finding it is heavy and takes up a lot of room. Any suggestions would be great...

I usually throw mine in the bed of the truck. Been thinking on getting a crate on something to coil it in.

I have storage bins in the bed of my truck for the coiled-up 50 amp cord. It is secure there because I have a hard, folding, lockable tonneau cover.

I throw mine in the beaver tail storage that's in the garage of my toy hauler. :D

Thanks for the ideas... I do have a lockable cover on my truck but still don't want it lose. Do you think it will coil in a milk crate?

I think it would coil in a milk crate. I actually had 2 lengths of 50-amp wire coiled in a small bin. I purchased the extension 50-amp in case the power pole was too far.

At around $70-$80 apiece, I would recommend storing them in a secure and lockable bin, box, or whatever. If left loose in a milk crate in the back of your PU truck, anyone can walk by and scoop the cord up. It just might be on some dishonest RVer's wish list.

I assigned the 50 amp cord duty to my little 5 foot DW. She rolls it up and stores it the front battery compartment with my Golf Clubs and Sun Mountain push cart.:D

You can wish for $70-80. A 30' 50A cord retails for over $150. They are certainly worth protecting.

Its only in the back up the pick up too and from the campground, I leave my rig plugged in all the time at home.

I looked at a milk crate the other day at the store. No way it would fit.

Kenn209,
I store my 50 AMP cord in the basement on top of the folding lounge chairs. I have two long Velcro stapes that I wrap around the cord. The cord is the first thing out of the basement when setting up along with the electrical container for the surge suppressor.
The cord is always wiped clean and rolled up, then Velcro straps are applied when it is put away. I use Scott's disposable towels to clean the cord with.
