Heated underbelly?

I recently bought a 2016 raptor 422sp. I am not sure if the underbelly and water tanks are heated or not. I didnt get a great answer from my salesmen.

My 2017 Fuzion has switches to turn on the tank heating pads and the furnace blows warm air into the storage compartment. Hope that helps.

As stated in the previous post, I would assume it you had heating pads on your tanks there would be switches to turn them on/off. Then again they could be wired directly to a self contained temperature switch. If I had to guess I would say they would use on/off switches

I would think a 2016 would have a heated underbelly at least. As for tank pads, not so sure. Mine has a heated underbelly. What it consists of is allowing heated air from the furnace into the underbelly. Nothing more. Nothing fancy. Nothing to turn on or off but the furnace. I don't have tank pads. Like mentioned above, if you have tank pads you will most likely have switches for them on your control panel.

We are currently in Texas and the temperature has been in the high teens and 20's. The park we're in shut down the water and advised us to fill our holding tank and work off of that. We woke up two days ago with our holding tank frozen and I assume the line that goes to the pump. It appears as if the heated underbelly business failed in this environment. I put a heating pad under the holding tank and got it thawed out. I also ran a heat gun into the underbelly for about 8 hours in hopes to thaw the line. No luck, still without water.

We will probably go to Arizona next winter as this area isn't warm friendly and I don't like having to hoof it to the office to fill up gallon jugs so we can flush and wash dishes. Not a very happy camper as they say.

Are you using the RV furnace only? If you use an electric fireplace or a space heater the furnace will run less.

It sounds like heated underbelly is much like "freeze proof insulation" (doesn't work). My trailer is on the side yard with everything off (winterized) and the remote transmitting thermometer shows it staying just 1-3 degrees above the outside temperature, so it's been as low as 27F inside.

We use the main furnace for our heat. We supplement in the garage area with a space heater and it doesn't seem to affect the main furnace operation. The main furnace only shuts down for a short period of time, other than that it's running most of the day and night.

Hindsite being 20/20, some of the things to remember when in colder weather:
Let your water drip from each faucet. Keep a watch on the "basement" temp.
Texas, at least, in the Rio Grand area typically isn't as cold as it is now.

The 2016 Fuzions have heat ducted into the underbelly but the tank heaters are options. They were included in the Chrome package or could have been ordered separately. You are looking for switches like the ones in the photo attached from my 2016 414 Chrome.

Edit: Oops. I just noticed the post was for a Raptor. Perhaps the info can help someone else.

My 428 doesn't have heated tanks nor was it an option, it only relies on warm air from furnace running through the basement area to keep things flowing.

In my fusion, the tanks are not in the heated basement area. the only part that is heated (by the furnace) is the basement storage. All the holding tanks are basically only protected by the skin underneath or coloplast or whatever its called. that's where the tank heater pads come in. I still believe it is only good in the 20 degree range.

Once the heat source is turned off in a trailer it is only a matter of time before the inside temperature tracks the outside temperature. How quickly that happens is directly related to how well the trailer is insulated and we know that is not a very well. With “freeze proof insulation” that will help the underbelly but not without a heat source and as others have mentioned it should be the furnace.
