Roof Repairs

My husband began the process of getting our camper ready for spring. He went to inspect the roof and found a soft spot. The interior is still firm, no damage.
What is the best way to correct this issue before it getting too bad?

The spot is fairly small still, about the size of a softball on the rear corner.
I don't have any pictures of the roof at this time.
