We are finally retiring and looking to spend the winters in the warmer climate. We plan to start out the first time in Florida. Then later maybe move on to Alabama, Texas or Arizona. So anyone with a place near Wesley Chapel (near Tampa) That have spent a month or two with pets? (golden retrievers) I have been checking out a place called Zephyr Palms in Zephyrhills Florida. Anyone have any experiences there or have another good place?

We've been looking around the Tucson, Arizona area a bit (the KOA in Tucson is nice but WAY too large and in a bad part of town, we'd rather be further out). Finding a place that will allow a sweet, older (12 years) single large dog (58 pounds), who is probably a lab/boxer/pit cross has been a HUGE problem.

A lot of places have a single dog limit, 20 lbs or less, plus breed bans.

We stayed at SUN-N-FUN RV RESORT (http://www.carefreecommunities.com/rv-parks/florida/sun-n-fun/) In Sarasota Fl. for many years. It is a little pricey for short stays but they offer everything you could ask for and then some. Indoor and outdoor pools, restaurant, poolside bar and grill with nightly entertainment, etc., etc. Too many activities to mention. Very dog friendly with a few fenced dog runs with dog bathing stations.

Except for groceries you never have to leave the park. :D

We have never wintered south but have a plan to leave our trailer in storage somewhere in central Florida in early November, and return after the holidays for January and February. Somewhere near Lake Wales possibly? We really don't enjoy crowded places like Miami - Lauderdale - St. Pete and don't need to be near the beaches. Sound like a plan? Any tips or leads??

Looking at the pic I think that you've found the right place:) That looks so peaceful and quiet and a nice place where you can actually hear yourself think at night without the noise of others:)

We have been coming to Sun N Fun for sometime. Always have spent 2 - 3 months here during winter. one of the niceest CGs in the area, not the nicest but close. More to do here than anywhere else. The good ones in the area have a waiting list, but you can usually get in here. Other than Key West I've not found a more expemsive CG or resort. We have finallly decided we will not be back, time for a change of scenery.
One more thing ~~ always until a few weeks ago the wifi was good, not any longer.
