I have been looking a Cougars for sometime now and am getting ready to retire. I have ordered a new F-250 Lariat gasser and am now looking at 5th wheels. We are looking at either the Cougar or Cougar Lite. Can't wait to dig into this forum to get various opinions.

Congrats on the new truck and the search for a new trailer. Realize that a 250 gasser has lots of limitations when it comes to a 5th wheel....it will have to be small.

Congrats on your new truck !!! Enjoy :D

Now you have set the limits on the size of RV that you can safety handle. Enjoy looking for that ideal rig that will meet you needs.

I initially had my sights set on a F-150 ecoboost but realized I was committing myself to an Xlite at the best. After multiple Rv shows, discussions with folks in rest areas towing with F-250 both gas and diesel for what I am looking for the 2017 F-250, the new transmission and 4.30 rear end should fit the bill. I am not looking for something huge, something 36' to 38' is all my wife and I will need with an occasional trip with a grand child or two.
Thanks for the insight.:camping:
