Hi All,

We are looking to move up from our 28RBSWE Cougar TT to the Cougar 336BH 5er. Can any of you current owners give feedback on real world pin wieghts when loaded up for camping? My current TV is a 2016 F350 CC LB Diesel, door sticker for payload is 3483lbs. I know empty weights my TV looks good to go but loaded does this still seem like a favorable setup or is the weight and length going into Dually territory? We like what we have now but made the mistake of going to look at this and wife loves it. My current TV and TT I don't even notice the trailer back there and I don't want to buy something that is going to be at the limit or create a white knuckle experience going anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and experiences!

Towing with a 07 2500HD Chevy D/A with no mods done to the truck and it towed and stopped with no problems. Bought trailer in October had it out three times great floor plan. Can't wait till spring to get out again.

Suggest you take a look at this thread. Tons of great info and plenty to scare the hell out of you too. To answer your original question your truck is plenty. My pin is about 2200 loaded. Let me know if you want to know anything else.

I found a 336BHS Cougar with a pin weight of 1910 and UVW of 10325 and input those numbers into Towing Planner and came back with a loaded pin weight of 2545 loaded ready to camp.

http://towingplanner.com/Estimators/TonguePinWeightFromDry/?dt=1910&dw=10335&lw=11835&a=3

Now you can take you 3483 payload and work up what weight you can carry. I'm going to input 200 pound driver, 150 pound passenger, 200 pound hitch and 50 pounds misc and comes out to be. "You're adding approximately 600 lbs. to the truck. You have 2,883 lbs. of payload capacity. Fifth wheels typically have 20% - 25% pin weight which gives you a maximum loaded camper weight of 11,532 - 14,415 lbs."

Using the Stubby Pencil it looks like it great match but you still should verify the numbers by bring it to the scales.

Your truck should be fine. We absolutely love our 336. 55 nights in it last year and only a couple of minor things that I was able to take care of in my driveway.
