After upgrading my fiver I realized that my portable compressor does not have the capability of airing the tires to 110PSI
Anyone know of a portable compressor that will do 110PSI

We have a Porter-Cable 150 psi. $100 at Lowes a year or so ago. Works good.

Just bought a Rigid brand from Home Depot this weekend. Same size as the porter cable-$99.00

Steel vs cast iron tank and no rubber compressor to tank hose.

I second this one. Got lucky and bought my Viair at Cabela's when it was marked 1/2 off. Worth every penny.

I have to differ on the Vair compressor. This is not a compressor that has any use other than to blow up floatie toys in the pool (in about three days). And that is not much of an exaggeration. This is NOT a compressor that has any good purpose other than to very, very slowly air up one tire at extremely low PSI. When we were testing our TPMS two front tires went flat (a long story) and this thing overheated many times until I finally limped to the Exxon station and spent six bucks airing them up to the proper PSI. It was returned and I got my money back.
In editing this, make note that I had a model 300 something or other. Way too small for anything other than the smallest of car tires etc. I wasn't even aware they made a larger portable compressor.

I am very happy with my VIAIR 450P Auto 12 Vdc air compressor rated to 150 psi.

Although it is only .97 CFM @ 90psi vs the Porter-Cables 2.6 CFM @ 90 psi 120 Vac compressor, it is handy to have when 120 Vac is not available, which is always the case for me unless parked in a CG or on my driveway.

I have the Viair 400P and a Porter Cable pancake. I love the Viair for topping off the trailer and truck when trying to get to 120 vac is inconvenient. I don't like the short 12v cable for the battery nor the coiled cord that kinked and ruined itself on the first use (bought a standard air hose). The pancake is 150 psi and takes care of whatever I need as long as I have 120 - I don't carry a generator anymore. I would not ever want to use any 12v compressor to fill the large tires on my truck unless I had lots of time to kill (I have tried and had high hopes but...) - or the 12v had on board air storage - then again, I try to NEVER let myself get in a situation where I have a flat, but, I don't control fate:banghead: and with 3 roadside assistance plans hopefully someone could bail me out....

I have a old VIAIR that is rated for 100psi and have used it a few times. It is slow but worked in a pinch.
Was not aware of the 450 that is rated for 150psi. I would assume it is also pretty slow.
I am not planning on airing a completely flat tire more for topping off the pressure while on the road.

Wow, wow, wow! Sorry sir that you had a faulty "Viair" compressor. I have been like many others using my Viair 400P-RV compressor regularly for a few years now. My fiver tires air up to 115 pounds nicely. Glad you returned yours for a refund.

I have a 12 volt similar to the Vair but wanted a 110V unit. I actually went to Lowes to get the Porter Cable unit that is similar to the DeWalt that Xrated bought but saw the Fini and liked the size. Just hope it works out.

Yea, with an onboard generator in the T.H. and a 50' air hose I should be good for reaching the truck tires and the trailer tires.

You might give that inflator a whirl to try it out before you need it. I had one very similar to that and it took FOREVER to put 65 psi in a truck tire. By the 2nd tire it was so hot that I just turned it off and put it in the barn (I turned it off because years ago, while trying to air up a tire on a flat bed trailer, I didn't turn one off and watched it turn into a puff of smoke). Hope yours works better than that and good luck. Let us know.

Good advise, will give it a shot before i need it... If it doesn't work, i have a new one for the garden wagon and bicycles or inflating ballons..

Nothing to pack around or find space for the compressor, it is always with the TV right there under the hood!!! This is part of the PacBrake install kit, have thought of getting one that has a higher volume.

I bought a 150 PSI Porter Cable 1 1/2 gallon compressor. The low volume would be a problem for paint guns and framing nailers but not for topping to 80# on the truck and trailer tires. Not into 12 volt with two 110 receptacles in the truck.

CaptJohn, have you actually plugged anything into one of the 110V receptacles? The wattage on that Cable would not be compatible with the Ford.

Well I have currently a 1.5 gal. air tank soon to be 2.5 Gal. I have nothing to get out except an air hose and chuck! 150psi available. one less thing to find a place to put!

Great! The ones I've used were always in the boonies on 12vdc. That might be the difference, or, the newer ones are just better. Either way, it's working for you so great.

I had a blowout last weekend. The truck spare was at 60 lbs. I used my little Lowes (Kobalt) dual voltage compressor to get it to 80 lbs. Took half an hour. So, I am looking for a better solution.
