OK, I'm kinda new to RV'ing so this might be a dumb question. I think it would be a good idea to have a battery disconnect switch to prevent the battery from being overcharged by the converter when connected for extended times on shore power? I believe that the converters do not have a very low "trickle charge" setting. I believe the lowest they charge is 2 amps.

Hi,

I may be wrong but the way I understand it, all modern converters are "smart" and can be left pulled in indefinitely without concern for over charging the batters.

Also, did your Rig come with a battery disconnect? My 2013 Cougar does.

Take care,

This is what they are designed for. Mine has been on for ten years and only on my second battery. If it makes you more comfortable you can disconnect it but remember that the battery also serves to filter the 12v to give clean dc power for sensitive circuit boards. Jm2¢, Hank
