Hi All,
1. This is my first post on this forum. This is my first Toy Hauler (former Open Range Owner), 2016 Fuzion 420. Anyhow, I've had a few issues since we purchased it in August 2016, but today I noticed the Start Switch is blinking! I have disabled the Battery Cut Off Switch in the Convenience Center, and the other Battery Cut Off Switch (located in the upper left corner of the Battery Compartment), which I discovered recently. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue? I parked the unit after using it the weekend of 10/28/16, and when I tried to start it Saturday, I got nothing! I had to jump the generator off with the truck. Can anyone provide some insight?

Welcome to the forum!

A blinking start light indicates a stored "trouble code" in your owners manual there should be directions on how to retrieve that code. I can't remember right now (late) if you quickly press the start button 3 or 5 times and then it will blink the code.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Are you sure that the all 12 volt dc power is turned off with the battery disconnect switch? I have a Fuzion Impact 351 and the factory disconnect left a lot of stuff still on. So I added another deep cycle battery because I can and added my own disconnect switch that will for sure kill the trailer. It also lets me run one battery or the other or tie both in parallel. I shouldn't have any more of dead battery problems after all of that.

First of all, thanks for responding. Well, I've checked everything I could possibly check. In my earlier post, I mentioned a Cut Off Switch in the upper left section of the battery compartment. I can tell you that switch will cut power to the Antenna Booster, and the Inverter that runs the Residential Fridge. Not sure what else it kills. I know BCM and DC (In Command system) is off. I'm going to fire everything back up and start shutting things down in sequence starting with the Cut Off Switch located in the Convenience Center.

The Onan will blink the trouble code. Sometime a two digit number with a slight pause between the numbers. Report back with the code and we can help from there. If you don't have the owners manual Google is a great help also. I know this forum helped me greatly with my first Onan 6500 issue. Good luck and let us know.

All,
Thanks again for all the input. I stopped off at the rig this morning and pulled the cover off the generator, and sure enough the light on the Start Switch was still blinking. So, I decided to start her up! On the DC panel it gave me the fault code, "Over Prime". Well, I had to press the button (on the DC) several times before it stopped popping up on the DC screen. I let the generator run for a few minutes and then shut it down. Activated all of the Battery Disconnect Switches (you'll see them in the attached photos) and shut everything down. Now the Start Switch remained a "solid red". So, I'm guessing I'll have to install another Battery Disconnect switch to totally kill power to the generator. You can see on my attachments where current Battery Disconnects are installed. Again, I appreciate all of the help. I've learned lots of info from this forum.

The red key type disconnect in the third picture is exactly what my camper came with too. Complete and total joke. It doesn't really kill anything. Best way to have dead batteries is to trust that hunk of junk. On your second picture I see the grey switch with red handle disconnect. I put one of those on my first travel trailer and it worked great. It should kill all of your positive 12 volt power if all loads are ran through that switch. I do not believe you need a 3rd disconnect switch. That big gray one just needs to be hooked up better to serve your needs and be a true "kill" switch disconnect.

If the button is solid red the gen is priming. I have the same issue when I use the battery disconnect. The gen is not run correctly thru the battery disconnect and the DC. You can either disconnect the pos battery cable or disconnect the gen wiring. Remove the cover on the genset and on the left side by the on board start/prime switch you can unplug the connector during storage.

onan 5500.... nothing but trouble when hot out. we have new fuzion 369 toyhauler. I am convinced it is possessed and I would never purchase another Keystone product. Now, after speaking with the Cummins Tech, I learn that the placement of the generator and no really good "fresh" air, it overheats very easily. So much for trying to dry camp with our toyhauler. It just gets better every day.

I'd have to ask, are you just complaining about Keystone or are you, in some "veiled way" looking for help?

Complaining and seeking help. If you had the year i have had... you too would gripe a bit. With that being said, if you have answers... generator and screws popping out of walls... i gladly accept

Nobody here can help with the gripes, but it seems the help is already being offered. Good luck with your issues.

OrThanks. Sometimes the gripes can bring solutions. But for some reason... i should just tell you my problems covered with daiseys.

What's that old saying: You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.... so, yep, that might have worked better......

That works with people who read your comments/gripes about a trailer brand that they also own as well as it works with insects. Realistically, you "bitched out Keystone" on a forum that's not monitored by Keystone or any of its employees and tried to insult a long time forum member by accusing him of "working for Keystone. The only people who frequent this forum are typically Keystone owners. Telling them that their trailer is junk because you have problems just isn't a great way to "win friends and influence people".....

That said, over 90% of the respondents to a survey (we need to do it again) responded that they were happy with their Keystone and would buy another.

Ok you win. Have i told you today how awesome my 39' keystone Fuzion toyhauler is? So in your survey mark me down as totally satisfied ..in love and wouldnt change a thing

Is that enough honey forr you. In case you can't see it, I hate for people to talk down to me and you old farts have nothing better to do but sit around and get mad when somebody criticizes your beloved company Keystone Have a great day

My how you get your feelings hurt easily. First of all, if your buddy would have read my post he would have seen that the problems that I was Finding was after having the unit or coach for a while. But instead of reading it and being helpful he decided to talk down to me and treat me like a child. Then when I called him on it you took up the battle for him and acted like a fool if this is what this form is about I want nothing to do with it. If I cannot voice my opinion or my concerns without fear of listening to you call me names and talk down to me I'm done. So you can call names and you can be whatever you want to be showing that you're a grumpy old man, but leave me alone now

"onan 5500.... nothing but trouble when hot out. we have new fuzion 369 toyhauler." YOU said it was NEW. But the point is, you come on a site with a problem and people offer you help but you just act like you're at the dealer bitching to the service manager. A little courtesy goes a long way.

You are a funny old man. First you call me a dumbass, then you say courtesy goes a long way. You have never offered a suggestion or recommendation you have just tried to fight. Your buddy did not offer a suggestion or recommendation other than I should have checked my brand new trailer out better in the beginning. Since you pointed out I said my trailer was new, how would me handling my generator in the beginning tell me that there was going to be problems 11 hours later? You my friend are showing who the real dumbass is. Talking down to me or treating me like an idiot is not a recommendation or suggestion. I don't know what your deal is but if you are the epitome of a Keystone owner you have given me more reason to not like the company. So old grumpy man what should we fight about next

You know, I think you've had a terrible year with your trailer, real or imagined. I think that has put you in a combative frame of mind and you're here, possibly thinking someone works for Keystone, or not, venting on anyone/everyone that responds to you as you go from thread to thread. You need to take a "chill pill" as they used to say....

Here is the response I gave you from the other thread when you went off on me; it appears you haven't read it and you should. Maybe it will give you a little insight into "things", if that's possible and help you see what I see. And no, I'm not "talking down" to you, or calling you anything...nor am I some "grumpy old man" trying to offend a very offendable individual....

""Bkeadle, I'm sorry if I offended you; it was not intentional. My reply was not helpful because you didn't ask for help, just observational as yours was.

Quite honestly, screws coming loose just happen in an RV. Unless I'm the only person that has ever experienced it, I would bet a good number of folks on this and any other RV forum have had the same issue (at least I've read lots of posts about it). It's not the end of the world, and happens to the best of them. Generator placement, no venting, "cheap and weak" folding legs on the beds etc. - those could have/should have been noted on the walk thru. You don't say what the water leak was so don't know but they happen as well.

Not trying to be a smarta$$ or belittle your efforts. I missed/forgot stuff on my walk thru and, it was "tedious" - every time something came up that I had overlooked I kicked "myself" in the butt because I was lax. I didn't blame Keystone/Jayco/Forest River et al because I KNOW what they build and what to expect - not much. It is unfortunate but that is the nature of the beast. And yes, it can be a daunting task to do a thorough walk thru, especially if you don't know what you are looking for, or even what you are looking at. Even with the PDI checklist you can miss stuff.

I don't work for Keystone and I don't actually have "Keystone-loving-feelings" per se; I do like my trailer even though I've had, apparently, as much or more trouble with it than yours. I'm sorry you've had issues and hope you get them all resolved to your satisfaction so that you can hopefully enjoy your trailer one of these days. Good luck. ""

"Grumpy old farts"...did someone call my name? How did I get left out of this discussion? To Bkeadle: Hang around, man! We like member with a little "bite back" in them. And yes, there are a bunch of us "grumpy old farts" here, but most have a world of knowledge that would be handy for you to access.
That being said (so far I haven't had to apologize for anything nor offended anyone) let's look into this generator problem. I believe it is the only real problem that seems to be hard to overcome.
Any chance you can look under another comparable Fuzion and see if there are any obvious differenced in the air flow areas?
Of all the problems we have seen for years this one has never some up before that I remember.
