I want to replace the Fabric on my awning. Watched some videos, doesn't seem that difficult. Anyone done this? Any suggestions?

I'm in the same boat. I have debated on trying this myself but haven't gotten the nerve yet.

I changed mine 2 months ago.
Its not difficult
But it is a job for two people
I did it by myself. :banghead:
Took 4 hours

I did an A&E awning on a now long gone 5er. It takes a couple hours and at least 2 people, three much better. Two to pull it along the roller slot and body molding plus one to guide the fabric. I used some dish detergent for lube as it washes away when done. Watch out for the roller springs, making sure you lock them in place as a sudden unwind may cause them to break, especially if old and somewhat rusted
Oh and electric - not done one of them yet and hope never to have that 'privilege'

Most electric awnings don't have a spring. My boss and I have different methods, but a second person is needed for some steps.

Thanks for the feedback. I feel confident in doing it, and have a couple of extra bodies to help. Always appreciative of tips from people who have done it before.
