Greetings everyone, My wife and I are new owners of a 2016 Cougar 333MKS, which we pick up in a couple of days. We'll be pulling with a 2015 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 SB 6.7/auto, with a Demco 18k Hijacker autoslider mounted to a Demco "picture frame" adapter on factory pucks. Excited and nervous all at the same time.

This is our first 5er, upgrading from a 2012 Trail Sport 27' TT. We're looking forward to many years of family adventure and fun. I'm very certain I'll be seeking the advise of you seasoned towing veterans on this forum.

Welcome to the group. Your truck should be very capable of towing that fiver.
You mention short bed, but that can be a 5 footer or a 6 footer. We have the 6 footer, and don't have a slider, and really haven't needed it. Our Cougar is cut away enough to not come close to the cab, so it's not an issue.
We did install a Curt hitch with the standard puck mount, instead of the picture frame, as I was afraid the frame would make the hitch higher, so the fiver would have too much tilt.

Enjoy!

I had a tow behind toy hauler 27 foot and I was amazed how easy and steady pulling the 5th wheel over the tow behind. So enjoy it you will like it.
