My main AC has quit. At some time during the day the power was off due to a passing storm. So I'm concerned. The AC makes clicking sounds when moving the T stat slides and modes and fan settings but AC wont kick on. Power is to the rv and breakers are on...not tripped borh 110 and 12v. Where and what should i check first. Hot here in Austin. TIA. Ocho

Spicewood? Are you at the airport?

For thread purposes, I wonder if there is a reset button? Did you have a surge protector connected?

I'm not at the airport. But very close. You? No surge protector. And everything else is working. Perhaps a reset somewhere?

My son has a hangar at the airport.

I dunno. Someone will come up with a possible solution. Ignorant of what to do, I would try a reboot by turning off all AC/DC power, reconnecting it and then try turning the AC back on.

GOOGLE RV AC reset and see what you find.

If the power was off and turned back on with the A/C running, all bets are off.

If the A/C was turned off, then the power shut off. And the power was restored quickly, the A/C should have an internal timer that won't allow it to start for a short time. Leave it OFF for at least 15 minutes and try again.

It's been off for a day now. No bueno. I'll try to de power everything and try again. Any other suggestions?

Manually reset the breakers and try one last time. No go means a trip to the doctors office.

The clucking means the low voltage signal is getting to the control board. The issue is in the 110 side.

I'm hearing the thermostat trying to kick on the AC. There's a black box up inside the AC unit accessible from the inside. The thermostat wires are going in as is the 110 power. Coming out are the wires that go up to the fan an compressor. My guess is that box is bad. Agree?

Possible. There is some specific tests that need to be done to determine if the controller is bad or the compressor/fan is bad.

You could swap out the control board and see what happens. Without being there to do the tests, I can't say with certainty based on over the WWW diagnosis.

True. What's a good source for this control box?

We get them from the manufacturer.
