What voltage is needed the activate electric brakes? I'm only getting 2.3 volts. Can't believe that's enough for braking. At the electric brake pin on my friends truck with gain at 6 we 6.6 volts, my gain is maxed out at 10.

Help this is driving me crazy

Really should have more info, trailer, controller and whether it's built in or add-on, tow vehicle, etc. You could have a wiring issue on the tow vehicle or in the trailer, bad controller, or bad connections.

Your correct! Tow vehicle is 2008 Ford F-350 King Ranch Diesel 6.4. It has a factory installed brake control.

I been reading about this and some suggest that the voltage will increase only in real life stopping situations. That the more forced applied to tow vehicle the more the voltage will increase. Not sure if that's how my ford controller works.

I found this on the web. A little bit of reading but worth it. ------------
