We stopped at RV World in Rawlins, WY last year. It and another park are about the same. Some full time residents, a little road noise from the freeway and some train noise. It was good for an overnight stop. There is a Walmart close by. Here is a link to some more reviews. Hope that helps.

If you have an iPad, RV Parky is a decent, free app that includes a map of parks, Walmarts, Cracker Barrels and TA stations for search locations.

Although I'm not a huge fan of KOAs because they are close to highways, they do make an easy overnight while traveling because they are an easy in and out. You have your choice of Rawlins, Laramie, and Cheyenne along I-80.

Thanks all,
Found River's Edge Resort in Casper. Looks like it's off the highway and fairly new. Will post about the experience on our return.

Thanks all,

Just returned from the South Dakota trip. We did stop at the River's Edge Resort in Casper. Easy off and on to I-80 but far enough away so road noise was not an issue. North Platte river boarders the property. Fairly new so it was a bit sparse on trees (everywhere in this part of Wyoming is sparse on trees) Very clean and modern. Well run friendly folks. Owners are very active personally keeping the place up. Definite Thumbs UP!
Also stayed at RV World in Rawlins on the way back. Nothing fancy but clean, affordable and easy to get to. Good spot to overnight.

We just stayed at River's Edge too on a fly through home. Nice campground. L-E-V-E-L! I didn't need to use any boards. Nada! Made for a nice night. Casper is a nice town.

I did have an issue with a local LEO at Wal-Mart. My wife ran in to grab two things so I parked in front and stayed with the truck, windows down, enjoying the setting sun and 65 degrees. He pulled up next to me and asked which part of no parking did I not understand? I apologized and drove around instead until DW came out. I watched him patrol the parking lot for several minutes. Finally my wife came out so I picked her up at the door. This officer pulled up to me again while she was getting into the truck to let me know he was serving and protecting. Not upsetting, just a funny side note. Just be aware the Casper, WY Wal-Mart parking lot is the safest in the land!

I wish I would have seen these posts about Rivers Edge a few days ago. Coming home from Bozeman we overnighted in Casper at Casper East RV park. Very tiny, crammed in between an industrial yard and a storage area, nothing but 5 tight rows of gravel and hookups. Bathrooms were clean, however so not horrible, just "not much" of an RV park. Oh well, it worked for an overnight stay.
