New truck = new trailer I caved!

Well we fell victim to the buy a bigger truck, end up with a bigger trailer. DW and I went to an RV show just to "see" what was new and ended up buying a new Cougar 28rbswe"bouncey: Took delivery last night and absolutely love it and the extra space for our family over the Springdale we traded in.

Thanks! Yes when the kids are all grown and gone we plan on getting a 5th wheel but for now with such a young family we wanted a pull behind and maintain the bed for all of the bikes, toys, etc that we take when we head out as a family. Loved the 5th wheels but price and space won this time:)

Enjoy, you only go around once. Been there, done that. Only I had to buy a new truck to pull the new trailer that I had no intention of buyng in the first place.

congrats, we have the same trailer, it is now 3 years old and holding up very well, its great, and we use it allot. Enjoy.

That is a nice truck and trailer combo. Post about your thoughts after the first road trip. A co worker has a horse hauling business and after having leased or owned fords, 7.3, 6.0, 6.4 and now the 6.7. I think his is a 2014 and he has around 200,000 on it. He says ford finally got it right.

We took our first trip with it (about 200 miles round trip) and I was very pleased with how stable the setup was, felt even more stable than my lighter trailer did perhaps due to the heavy tounge weight of the Cougar. I was surprised that the EMPTY tounge weight is 850lbs on a 6400lbs (dry) trailer. Seems like the Cougars tend to have very heavy tounges. As for the TV, it handled the trailer with ease as expected with the 6.7 Powerstroke, low rpms, tons of TQ and very stable. I also enjoyed the exhaust brake which was very effective down steep grades. MPG averaged about 13 on this trip.
