On occasion, there have been questions as to how much a Propride hitch weighs. While waiting for the snow to melt, I measured the weights of the components and classified them as effecting TV payload or tongue weight.

The Propride with 1000 bars adds the following weights to our setup:

Added payload to the TV of 127 lbs for main head, yoke and bars and another 50 lbs for the stinger. Total weight affecting payload is 177 lbs.

Added tongue weight of 20 lbs for jacks and brackets added to the A frame of the trailer.

Keep in mind that tongue weight is at the ball of the trailer and payload is everything forward of the ball connected to the TV.

Therefore the Propride adds only 20 lbs to tongue weight but a significant 177 lbs of payload to the TV. That is equivalent to an extra passenger in the TV.

I hope this helps others considering the Propride hitch. If you have ample TV payload capacity and want worry free and relaxing towing, then consider the Propride.
