I was wondering what people did about a battery box in a fifth wheel for 4 6V golf cart batteries. I have found this http://www.allbatterysalesandservice.com/browse.cfm/4,5576,1,0,0.html but after getting it shipped, will be over $110. That's fine if that is about the only option.

Instead of me going to every store and measuring their storage box for just the right fit, I was wondering it someone has already done the leg work and found just the right one? I am not interested in building one out of wood. I have plenty of other projects to spend time on rather than building something I can purchase.

I went looking for where I got mine 2 1/2 years back, but couldn't find it. It was a marine supply outfit on the Internet. White plastic and advertised to hold four GC2 batteries (that's the size my Trojan T-105s are). If I remember correctly, it was about $75 with shipping. These guys just aren't cheap no matter where you look for them, but it takes a whole lot less room than four inexpensive single battery boxes. Just Google "GC2 battery box" and you might come up with it.

Figure what size you need to put all the batteries in. Go to WalMart and get a Sterlite/Tupperware tub. Get one with latches, not a snap fit top. If it's a little too big for the batteries, drop some 2x4 in to snug it all up. Notch the sides at the top under the lid for the wires. If you have a vent hose, drill the needed size in the top with a hole saw. Radiator hose clamp on top and bottom of the lid to secure the hose. Less than $20.
I should run some self drilling self tapping screws through the bottom of mine to secure it, but haven't. Don't have any air inlet holes either, come to think of it.
Rock & roll....

I actually just got back from Walmart with what I think will work. I don't have the batteries yet, so I had to find dimensions online. Hopefully they are close. The inside dimensions of the tub are about 14.5" wide and about 20.75" long. I think that will just fit as needed. I am getting the batteries from Costco within a few days.

Sounds good. I posted on here what I did with pics, if you want to search for it. But it sounds like you're on it.
