If any of you happen to visit British Columbia, be sure to stop in at Tunkwa Lake Provincial Park. This park is located about half-way between Kamloops and Merritt, near Logan Lake. There are no hookups but the scenery is to die for. If you like to fly fish - you have to be here! Like many of the lakes in this area, the fly fishing is super. Some sites have their own picnic table and graveled spot for your RV while others are more of a group site with 4 picnic tables and enough space for 4 rigs to pull in onto a grassy area.
There are several hand pumps where you can get water and numerous, clean and "odour-free" pit toilets scattered all through the park. Cost is $15 per night and the camp attendants love dogs and don't care much if they aren't on a leash. The campground is clean and well-maintained by a very friendly couple.
The road into the campground is gravel and; when we went in just a few days ago, it was quite wash-boardy and dusty. But once there, it is hard to beat. If you are looking for all the amenities in a campground, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an escape into pristine wilderness camping, please come and relax and enjoy.
