There was a thread that was closed because the op had not logged in since the original post. Seeing you can read posts without logging how do you know that he is not reading all the responses to his post?

I closed it, but I may have worded the reason a bit wrong. I was able to check and see his last recorded activity was his second post. If your a registered member but don't log in and peruse the forums, I don't know if that information is available.

Based on his last recorded visit and activity, the moderators were in agreement that the thread was basically "going nowhere". If the OP does see his thread is closed and wants to discuss the reasons, he can contact any moderator via PM.

The thread was closed not simply because the OP "had not logged in since the original post" but also because:
1) he withdrew from participating and did not respond to any of the suggestions, advice or opinions submitted by the members;
2) in the opinion of the Moderators, the thread was neither constructive or helpful and was accomplishing very little if anything --- "going nowhere" in other words.

The OP may have indeed read all the responses to his post but chose, for whatever reason, not to acknowledge or respond to any of them.

FYI, it was a unanimous decision by the Moderators to close the thread.

thanks, I was not sure if you could track by IP address as well as logged in.

Yes, we can track by IP address. They are listed as "guest" or as "Google AdSense Spider". Keep in mind that someone who uses a desktop, a laptop and a smart phone may have a different IP depending on where they "log on" to view the forum. But to answer your question, if someone logs on and/or doesn't log on their IP will show in the "Who's Online" section that is visible to Moderators. If they are using the same device at the same location, their IP will be the same whether or not they are "logged on". It may also be visible, at least in part, to members as well.

ADDED: Members can also "log on" in the invisible mode. To other members, they do not appear "online" but to moderators, they do appear "online" with a red symbol beside their member name, indicating that they are "online and invisible".... So, you can't hide from the moderators :)
