Lifting wheels using 6 pt. Leveling System

I did a search looking to see if anyone has lifted there trailer off the ground to adjust there brakes or grease their wheel bearings. A lot on self leveling but may have overlooked this. On the 2015 Fuzion page 12 they state you can change a tire? No problem. I know there are Disclaimers and they are trying to sell you a camper but has anybody tried this and if so is it safe.

With our rig, I have had it completely off the ground, supported by the six jacks, one time for at least three days to work on the brakes and bearings. Without any other supports, I would recommend NOT crawling under the rig while only supported by the jacks. That being said, I have changed tires, serviced the bearings and brakes numerous times with no problem. Some of the literature says you can't do this, and for some, this might be a good thing, but with caution, the jacks are more than capable of supporting these rigs safely, IMHO. When you throw lawyers into the mix, they always side on protecting the ones paying them.

my friend has a TH and his camper was off the ground on the door side our last trip out together a few weeks ago. That's three tires too.
I have seen it several times like that. when he parks at this house the door side faces his house and the tires are off the ground then.

Thanks for both reply's, what size jack's would you'll suggest to place under the axles? Each axle is rated 8K, do you believe these would do?

I really believe you have 7K axles on that rig, unless you've replaced them. If you are wanting to put jacks under the rig for safety, I would suggest placing them under the frame instead. Size the jacks so they will have a decent cushion of safety for the total weight they will support.

you can just put your 6 point leveling system on manual and lift either side. simple process.

We use 12 ton jack stands at work. Can't have too much safety margin, and I have a set of 12 ton at home. Had a Winnebago chieftain front end lifted 36" for a few weeks while I rebuilt (hopped up) the 454 in it.

It did get up!!! Popped a wheelie, too many mods too many years ago to remember. The machine work was done by a guy that is part of 5 speed records.

Your front hydraulic jacks are always supporting the front end, without any extra safety stands, so you can probably just use a 12K jack on either side near the axles to safely support the rig while working on it. Even if the front jacks were to fail, the rear of the rig will still be supported by the safety stands.

I've used my leveling system to hold up one side to change a blowout. But I wasn't expecting this last blowout to wipe out my hydraulics. I had no jack to lift the unit and put my spare on. I went to Harber Frieght and bought a 12 Ton bottle jack to carry for next time!
