I have a 2015 carbon 31 with double beds in the garage. I need to raise the clearance of the bottom bed to allow more head room. The top bunk is about 6 inches from the roof when at highest position so I have some more room to work with. What I cannot figure out is how to get the beds to go up higher. Is there a stop or limit switch somewhere? I cannot see anything stopping the unit a max height so need a little help. any advise will be appreciated.

There has to be some sort of limit switch or stop.
Altering it could be risky for the roof.
Here is an option.
I don't use the rear beds so I removed them. The lower one had a very heavy table in it, I'm guessing that I removed around 400 pounds and gained about 18 inches of height.

If your beds are "happy jac" they are chain/gear driven and the brackets that attach to the chain are a certain length. You can't alter them, sorry.

Chuckster is right, if it's a problem with the height of the total track, there is nothing you can do. If it's not a track issue and you've got room, happijack is adjustable within some bounds, but I don't think it's going to get you several more inches of clearance.

Thanks guys, I did find the max stop and there is about another inch I could adjust. Problem is my top bunk is a queen and the bunk extends beyond the tracks. The real height restriction now is the drive rod that goes from side to side and drives the opposite side. The bed will no go any higher because it will hit the drive shaft so I have all the clearance I can get. It's really is a shame that the happy jack couches have such deep braces reducing the head room.

My buddy's beds go much lower than required and were 4 inches short of the ceiling. Didnt take us long move the rails up tight to the ceiling.

Without firsthand knowledge of the support structure behind the walls, I personally wouldn't be arbitrarily moving the rails.

I think you're assuming that some of the weight is taken by the floor, that's what I'd assume too.. I'd be willing to move them as long as the bottom of the rails could weight the floor via some sort of extension.

You should have a little gold bar in the middle of each track about 1"x1" with a screw in the middle of it. If you do you should see empty holes either above or below it in the track. You can move those 4 gold pieces up if you have the spare holes and the bed will stop there. Same as the lowering point.

Acually we hit solid material behind all of the new screws. I would suspect that there would be a support full height, much easier to install during the build than leave 6 inches top and bottom.

How did you adjust it to get another inch? I need an inch.

Some of these beds also hang on the side vs. fold flat above. Here's a pic of mine.

Right. On my Raptor these brackets are only 6'2" and my Ranger is 6'4".http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161010/fb40e2d9b2678b5ae0570c46e72af7d9.jpg
