We will be picking up the new fifth wheel this Saturday. We have rented a couple units in the past to see what we do/don't like and decided the 5th wheel was for us. With the exception of the neo-angle shower, this Cougar met every item on our wish-list, and then some. This will be the first RV we actually own.

Our Boston Terrier, Fergie, (voted MVC-Most Valuable Camper -every time we go somewhere) is preparing for our new adventures by toughening-
up her "carpet feet" and learning to walk on gravel.

We just completed two weeks in Cascade, CO and that sealed the deal on the RV purchase. We joined the Good Sam club and will be looking for, and trying, many campgrounds within a few hours of our house to see what/where we like. Any suggestions are certainly welcome!

Hope to meet many of you soon!

Hi Brian!
Where in N. Texas?
Where do ya'll like to camp?

We are in Plano.

So far we have had 2 trips, in our trailer

1: Seminole canyon SP & Big Bend region
2: Collegiate Peaks CG, west of Buena Vista CO.

We have been going to the Big Bend area, since the early 80s, from a tent to a popup and now a trailer and it is one of our favorite places.

Almost 4000 miles on the trailer, after just 2 trips :D

:wlcm: to the forum from another Texan and congrats on the new rig! I think you're going to find that you will have a blast. There are lots of places to go within "a few hours" of Dallas. If you don't already, you might want to subscribe to Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine. They do articles on the state parks each month and gives you some insight into some pretty places and what to do there. We like Blanco State Park which is near you. Can get pretty busy and hectic on a weekend in the summer though. Good luck and have fun!!
